Yeah I don't blame you. I've barely had the car a month and put about 1500 miles on it. Never have I been hit by a rock by this size let alone twice within 2 weeks on the same roads I've driven for 2 years.

Winter tires

Prepped the beast for wintertime and went for full matt black setup
Wheels: RIAL X10 19” ET30
Tires: Blizzak LM001 245/50-19 runflats

Normally I drive the 20” BMW wheels and tires without RunFlat.
I was expecting much more comfort with the 19” ‘s (have the adaptive suspension) but the RF’s take away much of that supposed comfort gain..

Overall, happy with the look

Some advantages of your 19" winter wheel / RFT tire setup....less expensive 19" wheels/tires (over larger sizes), more sidewall should provide a bit better ride quality albeit offset by the RFT tires...but then again, the RFTs won't feel like driving on "marshmellows" and RFT will be a better winter option should the worst case occur.

Enjoy!

Ended up having Safelite come out and replace the windshield today. It was replaced with OEM glass and the technician did a great job with the replacement and calibration of the cameras. No issues with the HUD either. $0 out of pocket as well so I am a happy camper despite my initial apprehension.

Ah that explains things lol. I just swapped to my winter set with the same exact tires and didnt notice a big difference even compared to the stock 21". Didn't even think about them being runflats. Looks good though.

Oh dang, you're brave. Glad it worked out. How'd you manage $0 out of pocket even with OEM glass? How long did they take to do the whole job? Hope the new one stays perfect forever.

The Geico rep told me that they can do OEM but it does require additional approvals. When she checked they approved and said it was because OEM was the only version available, guess I got lucky there.

It took the tech about an hour to do the job.

I have travelers, they will by default put an aftermarket windshield in, but if you ask nicely and point out the car is only a couple years old they’ll approve OEM. Leasing new model cars helps as there is less likely to be an aftermarket option available.

Frank, that's awesome, my kids would love that! Is that available through iDrive? Or did you have to use coding?

My kids asked me to do the same since we had orange in October for Halloween. I was trying to wait until after turkey day but perhaps I'll code it in this weekend.

Haha. I was going bronze/white for thanksgiving as that would be kind of be close to thanksgiving colors but clearly decided to go with the more festive holiday colors.

Looks great! Which platform did you use to code this?
