For 6 months the vehicle Lady voice responded to “Take Me Home”. Worked perfect. She would respond by saying “Home Contact?, say yes”. All of a sudden it does not work. I press the steering wheel button and say “Take me home” and she responds asking “what music do I want to play?” I noticed the screen has something about music source in the upper left hand corner. If I say “Navigate to my home”, everything works OK.
This all happened when I was using idrive to find out if the cd changer was single or multiple. It is single. I did read about ripping the cd song tracks into the vehicle hard drive. I may have selected something but now I cannot figure out how to get back to where I selected using the idrive. Is there a setting I should be looking for that may have altered how the voice commands for media may have effected my setup?

Hah, Thought it was a fluke. Mine started the same thing about 2 weeks ago.
I had to say " Navigate 'home" and it worked as before.

Did an system update go through maybe?

I do not recall any updating or system notices. I am sure it happened just after I did the fooling around with the cd/dvd settings. I think it was something about usb and cd source. I have tried to find the menus but am coming up with nothing.

I also found recently that adding the term 'Navigate' before voice commanding a street address would 100% bring out the navigation option, and not something else by error.

I am beginning to think that maybe it was not something I did. Too odd that other owners have experienced the same voice function changes.

Another weird anomaly is while in CarPlay, I get Weather Channel stuff on my default screen. I don't even own that app. Bazaar.

I had the same thing happen to me out of the blue about two weeks ago. Not sure what caused it, but since then it has been working normal again.

I had the exact same issue with my 440i with ID6.

Before I would say “Take me home” and it’ll automatically navigate to the home address. Roughly two weeks ago it would take me to music selection...

I’m assuming the voice recognition via ATM/BMW ConnectedDrive was acting up and not interpreting or processing correctly on their end.

Glad to hear others have had the same effect. (Not about the malfunction but a confirmation of my problem.) I will try it again in the AM. Yes, it involved a music selection.

If I say, “take me to MY home”, it works perfect. Leaving out the MY causes the music thingy to come up. Not sure why this changed. Surly a nit, but easily solved.

thats nothing, in my Focus RS (which I had many moons ago) I pressed the voice button and jokingly said "call Massage Parlour" (not a contact I have) it magically chose the Girlfriends number and dialled her

I always precede any navigation commands with "Navigate to", My GF is astounded at how good the system is especially when telling Nav Doris to take me to a specific business in my town without an address or anything.
