Found a loaner X3 with the gray/red/msport combo with 13K miles on it. They offered $50,500 (would be CPO). Meh deal to me, but probably could negotiate a bit more than the new model.

For another new X3 with that combo they offered 5% off and said no negotiating. It would land at $55K as it's less highly optioned. Also meh.

They claimed the new version would not be out until this time next year. I said I thought it would be earlier as they were producing them starting in August. Regardless my parents would NOT want the new version with more touchscreen. It's already complicated enough for them haha.
If it’s a loaner would you be first owner? Prob not if they are giving you CPO. Agree doesn’t sound that great assuming msrp is 55k. That’s 10% off and 13k used miles. Should be more like 45k…

Have you tried the leasehacker community? Brokers online charge a fee call it $499-599 for X3s. They should have access to plenty of 30i inventory. You can get 8% off hassle free (before paying broker fee so call it about 7% net broker fee). May not be worth it if they are giving you 5% off but food for thought.

Also - if they are offering you 5 %. Go there in person, say I’ll sign papers give down payment right now at 7%. Quite confident They’ll do it.

In addition here are the current bmw incentives.

https://www.edmunds.com/bmw/x3/2024/deals/

You may want to consider financing the car thru bmw THEN paying it off right away. They are giving 1000 off if you finance thru bmw. Make sure your dealer isn’t already including this in their “discount”. This goes back to discount BEFORE BMW mothership manufacturer discounts. This 1000 would be in addition to the quoted discounts I’m saying you can get. There is also a loyalty discount of 1500 if you qualify.

So to summarize if you qualify for loyalty and financed thru bmw you’d qualify for 2500 of additional discounts with this months program. So say you negotiate 5% off your purchase price would be = (msrp * .95) - 2500. Make sure the 2500 isn’t part of the 5%. If it is the dealer is basically given you NO discount.

What are the current discounts running? I am in the deep south, have solicited quotes and received one quick reply with a 1.2% discount off MSRP.

Note: This is for a PCD.

Thanks.

Knowing Rallye (they're local to me), it will probably be at MSRP.
I ended up using a broker and just picked it up at the performance center in SC. I know I don't want the '25 with new Idrive and first model year, so I went for the '24

My best guess is June or early July. You should really check w/your local dealer's allocations!

Should I negotiate the price of an on lot vehicle then ask for military discount? X3 has $3k offer if I take delivery by 4/1/24.

I got m40i, 8% off $70500 msrp, but at $1100 premium. ($599 to broker and $500 dealer doc fees) no unreasonable add-ons like trucoat or simoniz.
I think they are trying to move x3s, but it's very difficult in low competition areas like NY. You have to call NJ, PA, or other state dealers. I could have gotten a better deal but I didn't want to push my luck since finding X3 m40i with features I wanted was a difficult task already and I didn't want the deals or residuals to worsen as we approach new model year.
I really didn't want to get stuck with new iDrive either. I like my buttons.

I think you got a decent deal because a car with summer tires is a tough sell in your area (especially now that it's cold again)!

If your intending to lease, I'd definitely use a broker. Not only do they deal with price, but also the interest rates (and other hidden goodies). As for a Military discount, make sure you go to ID.me and get registered there. There is a print out that they have. Make sure to negotiate the car, then talk Military and/or BMW CCA rebates.

If you can find a car that fits the bill and is available, I say go for it. If you order, you are looking at 8-10 weeks if the dealer doesn't have allocation.

Did you use a broker? Do leases tend to get a higher discount?

Thanks.

While I usually use a broker (Bacon on LH), I was able to negotiate a deal with a South FL dealer within a couple hundred bucks (about $20-30/mon more than LH deals), but didn't have to transport it here, so $ for $ it was about even as current advertised deals on LH
As far as discount on lease vs buy, no idea... I haven't bought a new car since prob 2000ish
I have lease 2 that we ended up purchasing after the lease. We have also always had a little equity in our leases.
The 2021 x3m would have had 2-3k equity (offer from a few local dealers and without pushing too hard) if we had not decided to purchase it outright at the end of lease.

2024 X3M40i lease vs. 2022 X3 M40 CPO purchase

Looking for feedback on this comparison: leasing a 2024 BMW X3 M40 36mo/12k mi vs buying 2022 BMW X3 M40 CPO with cash then reselling after 36mo.

Here's links to the different deals:
Lease 2024 BMW X3 M40:

2022 BMW X3 M40 CPO Purchase:

Obviously the big unknown is where the market for a 2022 M40 will be in 3 years - I'm basing residual off 2020's currently for sale and dropping $5k bc I know they've been marked up.
