I'm with you and the V8 is just awesome. The GLC 63s has not yet been reviewed by the press yet but I'm sure it will receive high praise like the E63s. I seriously doubt that BMW will be able to match Merc performances on this segment.

I think the S58 could put out 475 in this format. Much the F85, more room in the engine bay means BMW can package better breathing and cooling.

It'll be an interesting conparo

I guess I can see the shape you're referring to... but literally nothing else. The way the rav4's lights stick out from the body, the elements in the light... nothing else is the same in my opinion.

No more than a RDX or countless other SUVs

I test drove the GLC43 SUV this weekend. I honestly wasn't impressed. The interior was so small it really felt like a slightly raised VW GTI. I honestly didn't feel like I was in an SUV at all. If anything, a slightly tall hatch. Which I guess is the point. But the interior felt small an intimate. I almost double checked and wondered if we were in a GLA and not a GLC, thats how small i felt.

I will say though that all that melted away when floored it outta the dealership... the sound.... the shifts.... blip blip... I'm still feeling it lol It was fantastic!

Either way its not for me. Felt way too tiny personally.

If the S58 tunes anything like the S55, then tune and simple bolt ons should be 500whp+ That in a smaller suv is going to feel incredible.

I also tried one out and was also a bit disappointed with the interior. The rear space felt a bit cramped and I was also not keen on the driving position. The info system and iPad is definitely a step down from BMW. Resolution is poor and the tablet is not facing the driver . The rest of the interior is well put together but it feels dated . The C class is due for a LCI soon so hopefully the GLC will get the updated interior ( new screen, digital gauge, new trackpad) . Despite the interior letdown, I do like the look of the C63s coupe and the rumble of the V8... This model is hugely popular according to the merc dealer, there is apparently a 9 months waiting time for the GLC coupe !!!

I'm sure that it will be fast and perf of both models will be very close on paper.Yet I do see Merc having the edge especially the 63s version. Shame not to see a detune version of the S63 power train (M5F90) making its way to X3/X4M

Disappointing design trend for M cars. I'd love to drive one for a comparison though. I am excited for the new motor going into X3M car.

I didn't see it expressly written as not existing, but they made several mentions where they left that version out so it seems like it doesn't exist

I test-drove the GLC 43 recently after owning my X4 M40i for over a year now.
I had driven the C450 now C43 and was not impressed; the BMW 340 was much more rather impressive.
I hopped in a GLA 45 AMG and that was fun and could of been a buy over the 3 different C43 cars i tested.
There's no WOW factor in that 43 engine and seeing how the C63 S AMG are doing against the F80 M3, the same will happen once that big V8 goes into GLC. It will be a nice car; heavier and slower than X3M. The X3M will beat it in every category.

No wow factor in the twin turbo 43 cars? I guess I have a pretty low threshold then, cuz I was mighty impressed.

I'm not saying I would have bought it. And that there aren't better competitors out there. I'm just saying I put my foot down and I was grinning ear to ear. ITs the rest of the car I had no interest in lol

Well the C43 is lighter than GLC43 so the Wow'factor should be felt there as well.
I test drove 3 different C450 before and was unimpressed except with their Interior and Pano roof. But once I saw the fake quad pipes there were just too many reasons to move on.

When I drove a recent GLC43 and compared to my X4 M40i, it didn't give me that punch. It felt ok, but it definitely needs a V8. On the other hand, X4 M40i has plenty of punch, and power under the curve I am no trouble keeping up and beating some m235/335/435 Tuned & including 3x different F80 M3's (DCT, ZCP and 6MT stock)

Thats the surprising thing to me. I floored it out of the dealer (GLC 43 SUV) and the thing took off with a vengence. I'm not unfamiliar with fast cars. But I was seriously impressed by the torque.

I guess everyone's experience will be different. Any SUV that can feel like its got M3 levels of performance is okay in my book.

I'd agree with you though that every other aspect of the thing let it down to a defecit the power couldn't overcome. I was out.

I dont think I'll be able to swing an X3 M given I'll be making payments on my F80 M3. But, if I can find an X3 M40i to drive soon, I genuinely believe it'll be my next vehicle.

Hi FSociety,

on the list you can add Ford Mustang GT. I experienced it last week, he could not take me any inch with his loud V8
