I thought same until switched to 2wd.

How to reproduce the issue: 1st gear, stay on place, just little push the pedal, and release at ~1100rpm.

Original rear size for a front 265/40 is 275/40, which is 1.65inch longer (!!!, -2%) and 0.28inch(!!, 2%) higher than 295/35.. 2% difference is too much.

If you have spare transfer box - no issues, just continue.

No need to be a jerk and fearmonger. There are plenty of members here running the 265/40 295/35 with no problem. I fact this is the first time I have heard someone alleging the combo is not working out for them. My transfer case is fine after 36k miles, and the car gets driven HARD, with over 100 LC launches. The car drives fine and I have no drivability problem. I know what a broken x-fer case feel like

The X3M xDrive torque values front to rear can be different, 100:0 is quoted, which means the transfer case clutches can be open for higher duty cycles, and even allows for your 2wd switching. All that really matters for any x-drive x-fer case longevity is that the difference front vs back is around 1% to zero. It does not care if the difference is biased front vs back.

Sorry it's not working out for you.

The new wheel offset fit perfectly with the stock flares. No spacers are needed.

255/40ZR21 102Y front
265/40ZR21 105Y rear
9.5Jx21 ET22
10J x21 ET29

The wheels are available in different styles and any color combination.
I ordered wheels for a Tesla and he is very happy.

The price is also unbeatable.

Most of members had not tried 2wd mode. Most of members do not drive in hard traffic, etc. Many reasons why they did not post about this issue. 36k miles is not much.

Who told you about 1% from 0%? Why do you think that 0% is ideal? I think 1% from OEM setup is ok, but not 2%.

My car mileage now is just ~18k and this jerk at 1100rpm on 1st gear 100% related to tires, I will try to switch to 275/40 today.

The wheels are made in China and below is the manufacturer.
I ordered a few sets already and excellent quality and fitment.
Before shipment, I receive pictures of the product.

There are so many styles and different color combinations, it is too much to list here.

If someone is interested please contact me.

I paid for the rims below $1407 plus a $400 shipping cost.

Thanks - I've updated your entry in the Members' List to reflect 'Jova Wheels'. I reviewed over 60 pages of their forged (and other) offerings to see if I could find the exact product you chose but was unsuccessful. Knowing that might help others if they're interested in getting a set like yours, but at least the company's site (jovawheels.com) can be viewed if others wish.

The 1% rule is a myth. Many people have run even past 3%. Idk what kind of jerk your having there. Someone may have installed your tires wrong.

Wheels only came in 5x114.3 with 79.5 hub bore. I ordered custom adapters/spacers from US Adapters. They came in quickly, were reasonably priced, and were really well made. Spacing is 19mm in front and 22 mm in rear. If I had to do it again, I'd probably go with a little more sidewall and 295s in the rear.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT:
Do not buy adapters from Bronson or usadapters.com. I snapped 5 wheel studs off of 3 of their adapters. https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2040947

The car: '22 X4 MC (F98) at 20,000 miles. Rears were down to 4/32, fronts at 7/32.
The (original) wheels and tires: 765M wheels (9.5J / 10J) with 255/40-21 Michelin PS4S front and 265/40-21 rear and 12mm spacers. Car is lowered on MSS springs. Cost to replace all four tires: $1,786 + mounting and balancing.

New setup is 20" x 10" square. Rims are Vertini RFS1.2 with a 20 offset. New tires are Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 275/40-20 all around.
Cost of replacing the Firestone tires: $992 again plus balancing and mounting. That's a $794 savings + I get to rotate the tires so that all four tires wear out at the same time.
Weight of new setup: Rims are 25lbs and tires are 32lbs = 57lbs per corner.

Caution: Not all aftermarket 20" rims will clear the brake calibers. I had my eyes on Curva CFF46 rims, but they did not clear. Probably the tech didn't recognize the difference between an X4M and an X4MC (I am guessing).

Although I added a link to vertiniwheels in your listing, if you get a chance it'd be great to see some images of them on your X4MC as well.

My installer had a professional videographer film my car afterwards. I'm waiting for the published pictures and will post in due course.
