Looking to trade-in my 2016 340i xdrive with 87k on it for a 2018 X3M40 with 85k on it. Familiar with the b58 and some of the issues it has, the X3 seems to be clean and seeing if the dealership can get me a list of vehicle service records (carfax shows most all being handled at BMW dealer).

Wondering if there are any gotchas with the x3 that I should look out for? Vehicle has clean carfax, couple owners with last one not putting a lot of miles, has been a rust belt vehicle for its entire life but will be something I check out thoroughly if I got look at it. I have a new set of plugs and coil pack (OE) that I had purchased to do on the 340 but should transfer over to the x3 (need to check compatibility of plugs so see if the ones I got are the ones that the B58-TU still uses).

Both have very similar specs with the x3 having more convenience items like HUD, Parking Assist Package, Lane Departure/Blind spot package, etc.... both have cold weather package which is a must and the dealership just told me that the x3 actually comes with a second set of tires (??) and wheels (probably winter and summer).

So are there any known issues with like the Nav system, IDrive, etc. on the x3 that I should look out for? Other such items? TIA

Ok guess I am confused, thought this was the X3M forum for 2018+ but must have my lines crossed..

A real X3M has the S58. M40i has the B58. There is a subsection for the B58 models, which is linked above. You'll have more success there...
