Here are their times from the article. Link too.

We just got my wife's '22 X3M comp and it's really quick! Although, we have only a few hundred miles on it so far and haven't pushed it just yet (waiting until after break in). Nonetheless, it's a blast to drive and a rocket of an SUV!

Enjoy it!
I don't know what kind of rocket fuel they were using but I'd love to get my hands on some!

Faster than a M4C G82… or maybe that will be in the mid 2s' with that magic fuel.
Haha! Seriously.

Also car and driver have the 1 foot rollout which subtracts 0.2 sec from the time.
Ahh ok, makes sense. Just going off this article and what I'd seen in Joe Achilles video. He posted some impressive times!

Regardless, it's one impressive and fun SUV! We love ours so far.

I'll be doing more runs soon. Let's see if I get better numbers. Also want to do a 60-130mph run. Top end power for sure way better with Racechip.

racechip by itself is relatively safe. is definitely the "safest" option for mods.
with 7 settings, 1-3 is basically stock; 4-6 is a bit more aggressive and 7 is full race.
but even at 7, it's still far more mild and thus "safer" tune than anything else you can do it for speed and power.
I'm not trolling, it's just I have seen this over and over and over again starting with the N54. So many who blow their engines or have engine issues do not come on here to post because BMW monitors these places and people are trying to stick BMW with the bill because they don't want to have to pay to play. SOOOO many tuners are just resellers of someone else's tune they know nothing about and do not truly understand it's ramifications.

These cars/SUVs are already beyond ridiculous fast, beyond 99% of owners ability to control fast and people out here looking for more power just to say they have it….and then try to dodge the consequences. Money would be better spent on more HPED days with the stock car.

Nothing more than my .02 and experience.

Cheers,
e46e92

Absolutely and categorically no. The issue with racechip and any tuning box for that matter is that it controls only very few parameters like boost and ignition timing. Usually pushing the limit on these in the most aggressive settings. There are many other parameters which are not altered and should be - which are with a proper mapping.
Any proper map - be it over a platform like bm3/mhd/mg flasher/ecutek or directly flashed over the ecu at a shop - unless it's a cheap copy paste will deliver better power at better reliability.
The advantage of the box is of course some possibility of claiming warranty (or at least the feeling of it as bmw has ways to see your overboost periods etc even when you remove said piggyback).

No idea what those actual hp/tq numbers are. I ran a dragy with the Racechip turned off and recorded a 12.5 quarter mile. So vast improvement with Racechip on.
Hmm

I ran 11.7 stock tune with eisenmann midpipe in my '21 X3MC

Both are great and reliable products. Racechip is super easy to install with a quick plug-in and mount. My experience with Racechip GTS (setting 7) felt akin to a Stage1 tune.

OP makes a thread about his RC/Dragy numbers, thread gets hijacked and turns into piggyback vs ecu tune. Damn shame

Hey, thanks for posting… looks like I went high 8’s low 9’s stock. What method did you use to get your 60-130mph? If you start about 40 mph, downshift to 2nd gear, go wot, let it upshift automatically, it should improve your times. Make sure you’re in sport plus, with the most aggressive shifts setup. 3 bars on the shifter. My best to date is 7.6 seconds using this same method. I’m a stage one OTS E30 map. Hope this helps with a reference point.

Damn that's really low numbers. I did a 0-130 run and draggy got the 60-130 numbers from there. I think I saw Joe Achilles do a 11.59 on a LCI comp.

Yeah, most times you get better 60-130 numbers by starting out around 40mph as opposed to starting from a dig. Not always, but I’ve noticed mine are mostly always better starting from there, rather than from a launch.

This will work with a 2022? BMW upped the factory torque for the 2022 X3M.
