Did you/anyone try bedding them?

I'm gonna try to give it a shot thanksgiving week (vacation). I have a strip of road I hit after midnight.

To solve the reversing noise?

I have two options for street.
IS5000 - same bite as stock, super low dust. (Not recommend for cold climate guys)
IS2000 - more bite than stock, low dust. (Good for overall climate)

Oh, and now I have track/street compound.
IS3500 - strong bite, good initial bite. Need to warm up when at cold climate. Some squeal. Same amount of dust as stock.

Yes. Bedding often solves annoying squeaking.

I'm not sure what is the issue since it happens with the stock pads. Rotors maybe?

Which model were the initial run where you offered the discount for early purchasers?

The pads I got are super low dusting (in comparison to OEM) and I have not had any issues in the cold. Wondering if I have the IS5000 or IS2000? Or something different?

Edit: I just looked up my receipt:

Description: RG Sport BMW F97/F98 X3M/X4M Brake Pad Set - Low Dust

, Item#: RGS.F97.BPFR.1500

I have not noticed any decreased braking performance when cold (and I usually try to get out when it is snowing).

What is this recommendation based upon?

The initial bite at freezing wasn't there.
Need to warm it up a bit.
Maybe I was too sensitive, haha. I like to brake late.

But, reverse noise wise, I don't know.
My Porsche 991.2 also does it sometime. Stock pads.

I'll keep an eye out for that but I would not stop recommending them for cold weather drivers as I had zero issues.

That reminds me, my neighbor has an Audi and has had the same thing happen when backing out (squeaks/squeals). Could be a German thing.

Not sure if there is any supplier in UK since as far as I know, I am exclusive on this application.

Hi,

Ben set me up with the I2000 pads, thanks Ben!

I have 20k miles on my 2020 X4MC, and I'm only about 1/2 way through the OE pads, but can't stand the dust, wondering if I need to/should replace my rotors ($1300) at the same time as the pad change?

Just wondering if anyone else changed their rotors at the same time as the pads?

Thanks in advance,
John

I doubt if the rotors at 20k miles need to be replaced.
If you really are anal about it, then you can measure the thickness and decide for yourself

I decided I'll replace the rotors too, since I'm going with a different pad material from OE.
Also given my X4MC was driven by an IndyCar driver as his team car for 2 years before I bought it, the brakes might be a bit more worn than they normally would be for 20k miles...

Thanks.

I went with the IS2000...

Put maybe 1500km on my car already with the iSWEEP pads and I believe I've bedded them in. Seems the bite is close to OEM when its close to freezing temps but during warmer temps, the bite on these are superb. Will probably order rear pads soon aswell.

Be careful with low dust pads. I tried these on a heavily modified Corvette and stopping distance increased dramatically. YMMV.
