X3 Buying Advice

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Looking for thoughts and suggestions for buying a CPO X3. I found a buyer for 2012 LR4 (thank you sweet baby Jesus) and want to replace it with an X3 with the M appearance package. I have 2 in the running, both comparably equipped and both CPO:

2021, 43K miles, $40,999. Black/cognac (love the black/brown).

2020, 34K miles, $42,988, Black/black.

Are the nine thousand miles worth 2 grand? I drive average miles and the 2020 would give an additional year of warranty versus roughly 6 months additional on the 2021. As a side note so many of these things have high miles for the year. Nuts.

I would go with 2020 one and try negotiate the deal personally, warranty is an important factor to consider when owning such vehicle (repair cost could quickly add up if something breaks). From my experience with past 3 BMW owned, these type of vehicle would start having issues big or small here and there after 50k miles.

Lower mileage is also another plus, meaning less usage in general. Of course, 2021 might have slightly newer exterior and interior look/feel, which is also important for people who outweigh the appearance over usage.

It really comes to your personal choice but hope my thoughts can give you some direction, best of luck and congrats on the upcoming purchase!

Thanks. Dealer says he can't budge on the price so I may have to toss in a few bucks if I go that route.

Choice made. 2020 with 34K. Nicely optioned as well. M Sport, Executive Pkg., Driving Asst Pkg. and those nice 699M 20"'s (which will be powder coated the day it gets here)

Congrats on the purchase. If it were mine I’d swap for a black grill, X3M side vents and black mirror caps. In my opinion the 699 M wheels look really good like they are. I don’t see the need to powder coat them but that’s just me..

All a part of the plan. Maybe leave the wheels, who knows. But when you own a powder coating company...

First thing I did on mine. Few hundred bucks and an hour of my times completely transformed the car.
