Telematics battery for X3 G01 (2019) - part number?
Hi all,
First post so go easy ;-) I'm getting the "Emergency Call System Not Available" message on my X3 (G01) which is a 2019 plate. Having searched the forums it seems the cold weather could have impacted the battery and after 3.5 years, the battery may be on its way out anyway. Firstly, does anybody know the part number for the correct battery for my car please? I can find videos with 3 series or 5 series batteries but I am unsure if they are the same and need an X3 version. I realise I could remove the battery first to get the exact part number, but was hoping to have the new one in my hands to replace at the same time. Secondly, can anybody recommended a good but reasonably priced diagnostic hardware tool so I can detect and clear the message afterwards (I believe it might self clear after the battery charges but would like to check). Thanks! |

It depends on the production date of your car. It can have TCB2 or TCB3. https://parts.bmwnorthwest.com/a/BMW...B/84_1278.html
It's best to phone up your local dealer and ask the part number using your VIN. |

Looks like part numbers 84106833994 or 84102447710 are the two options, but can't tell which. I will find out from dealer and share tomorrow. |

Dealer confirms its part number 84102447710 for my car, as it has the original ATM version of the telematics module, not the later ATM2.
Ordered the part and will see how I get on fitting it! Any tips on hardware/software for fault reading and resetting please?? |

I was looking at the link above. It showed the battery wasn’t available and only a module was. 80 bucks is reasonable |

Literally just had it replaced by the dealer here in the UK.
They said it should last between 3-5 years. Didn't cost me anything as they pushed it to BMW to say it was failing too soon. My car is a June 2019 plate. That said I do have a good rep with my dealer... If you do with yours.. Ask them to see if BMW might cover it? |
