Any true flex fuel tunes?

Getting ECU sent out and debating what to put on (and what additional hardware will be needed). Goal is to run a true flex fuel tune as I have e85 available about 10 min away but not always convenient. Definitely would run higher content when heading to the track. Thanks!

Sub'd...curious as well. I am on BM3 so would love to see the support there, but to the best of my knowledge ECUtek and Visconti tuning is probably the best bet for true flex fuel.

If you are looking for a true flex tune, I'd say Ecutek. You can get the Visconti Flex Fuel kit and the Reflex. On my 2021 FBO Supra, it had a flex tune w Ecutek from Jeff Payn.

I wish the full unlock was available for the newer ECU so I could run Ecutek without the hassle of getting the Femto unlock and the ecu cloning... My 22 would be insane tuned on Ecutek w port injection and reflex.

Stick with Jeff...reviews on Visconti are not great lately

The FEMTO ECU unlock is still worth it IMO

I would definitely stay away from Visconti for tuning. It's impossible to get ahold of him and he does not give a flying crap about his paying customers.

Once I can source and tuneable ecu for the cloning, Jeff will be tuning it... I am also contemplating on doing the Femto unlock and just run the BM3. I'm gonna reach out to Kassel Performance as well since they are local to me

Jim (Kassel) is the man. He helped me in a bind on my e46, and I will never forget. His business partner Matt owns a X3M as well. If you decide to go bm3, I can help out with 20% off a new license.

PS..I just re-read your post, sorry thought you were recommending Visconti for tuning, but rather you were suggesting the FF kit

Bend Calibration is the go to for Flex Fuel Ecutek tuning on Pre-Femto ECU's; he just did the MaxPSI G82 with a cloned ecu and it made 750whp with an integrated PI (connected to the DME properly for DME controlled Port Injection) and true flex fuel.

I might pickup a 20 X3M next week and he'll be tuning it if everything works out!

Bend Calibration is the way to go if you have an endless supply of money, and want to do things THEIR way only... they are good if you don't ask questions and conform to only their "proven" methods. Arrogant is an understatement and not even in the states.

Jeff Payn is a pleasure to deal with, patient, and is a top notch tuner. I've used him on tuning my wife's X3MC. Sure, we had growing pains with the E50 tune, but he was willing to listen to my complaints, and adjust where needed to tweak the tune and make the car run correctly with minimal add ons.

Interesting; the folks at Bend Calibration are a pleasure to work with in my long term experience and have some of the largest databases of information available especially when it comes to flex tuning. Secondly all their tuners are American and they’ve provided track side support at many Shift S3ctor half mile events for myself and many other cars doing 180+ in the half.

It sounds like you weren’t a good match as a client for them however. I reached out and asked about this because it just isn’t like them to have this feedback; their simple reply was that they would not tune your car without a flex sensor, that makes sense to me as it’s really the first thing to do when tuning a flex car. My M3 makes 700whp on pump@12psi and 1050whp on E85…everything in between is blended based on flex content. Same thing with my M2C and a flex sensor was the first thing I put in for my flex tune.

Anyways not about to get into a back and forth about this but wanted to clear that up.

What’s interesting is why you’d reach out to a company you have no representative authority to ask about me, that you don’t know… and ask about my experience with them. Unethical in my opinion. Then you want to post your findings on this forum again, about me and my conversations with them. It’s none of your business, unless you do in fact represent them as a company, to which you and I will need to have a private conversation regarding our private conversations between Ian, the tuner, and myself.

You had a great experience with you, yay for you… I did not. And Ian changed his position on me and my car once he realized I wasn’t going to spend thousands doing a simple tune on a simple car. Bottom line, I’m sure they’re a great shop, but my opinion remains… they’re arrogant, and only want to fo things their way. Zero flexibility… yes, pun intended.

They told me to wait before sending my ECU out to get unlocked… I see why now. This is awesome.
I have their flex fuel kit on my F83 M4 and it’s so convenient (map switching and the other stuff too).
This is pretty huge

Did you order the new M4? Or were you lucky enough to find one local to you? Post pics.

I lucked out... there is a dealership about an hour away that just had one fall through with the exact spec (minus the wheels) that I wanted to order. It's in processing now so I won't see it til this weekend but it's black with red interior (black wheels). I'll be grabbing a bunch of pics Follow my IG if interested: MFor_YourPleasure
