That Merc is fast, especially from a dig. The little inline 6 holds it's own though, especially from a roll.

Thanks for posting the vid.
FWIW,I was cross-shopping the X3MC & GLC63 S (non-coupe) last summer and chose the AMG over the BMW hands down...I went to the local MB dealer to order and they wouldn't even take a deposit since it was the height of the chip shortage and told me flat-out go with the BMW as the GLC will never arrive. The sales manager at MB told me he was in the process of calling 3 customers who ordered and had to explain to them why he was returning their deposits. I wanted that GLC so bad too. Oh well

I know they do it for fun and comparison but you have a new '22 X3M, that you can buy, facing off against two vehicles that you can no longer buy new.

I drove a 2019 GLC63s and the interior was terrible. Seat leather was hard and slick, and the display screen was tiny and looked like a cheap knockoff android tablet. I also had a c63s, couldn't get rid of that thing fast enough.

The Trackhawk should be faster than it is, given its power-to-weight ratio.

The trackhawk also weighs almost 5400lb and looks like a giant brick. So no, it's not gonna be faster. Lol

Does anyone ever get the sense from these drag race videos that you could drive your own car faster/get more out of it than these random reviewers do? I can't help but wonder if there's more nuance to the throttle than to just stomp on the gas and hope for the best, like they do...which you could only have knowledge of if it's sitting in your own garage vs jumping in it for the first time as a reviewer.

I’ll concede that’s the only part of electric cars I’m jealous of. Instant torque. No worrying about boost building or downshifting. You’d really have to be on your game to beat an electric car ie) Tesla or even the BMW I4M50

haha I know what you mean. Brake boosting will make a big difference. I know we are not talking huge laggy turbos, but it does make a difference in a roll race. Even in my FBO stock turbo supra, it makes a difference how it takes off on a roll when you brake boost vs no brake boost. And of course, being in the right gear will too

Saw this vid the other day...thought the X3MC looked bad going up against these two, but I really don't care about drag, esp when all 3 are fast as hell, anyway.

There's a 2023 GLC63 S Coupe Dealer Order Guide out there, but have been unable to confirm if they are actually going to make...no one knows anything it seems. If it does go into production, I'll be at my dealer with a deposit, but not holding my breath. I like the X3MC too, but kind of want the V8 before the pols kill it.

Na, I'd rather buy a Trackhawk. Better performance and built in America. A few upgrades will blow both out of the water.

I am aware of that. But revenue still goes to BMW. Jeep is built by Americans by an American car company. 100% of the revenue stays in here the U.S. We need to be realistic. As nice as X3m Comp is, it will not touch a Trackhawk in any shape or form. There is absolutely no comparison.

You're not quite right with that statement. Jeep is actually owned by Stellantis based in the Netherlands.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stellantis

I'd argue the contribution the sale of a Trackhawk has to American jobs and economy is on par with the sales of an X3M.

Also, don't forget that BMW also exports a significant amount of those cars (X3-X7) internationally, creating even more US jobs. I don't believe Jeeps international presence is anywhere close to the BMW SUV's.

Not at all. That Trackhawk is not made by an American company. It's made by Stellantis, a multinational company with their headquarters in Amsterdam. 100% of the revenue does not stay here as the largest owners of Stellantis are a Dutch holding company, Peugeot, a couple of French holding companies, and a Chinese automaker.

The Jeep dealership market adjustment for a $90k Trackhawk pushes it over $100k(in my area at least) and I don't care how quick/fast or easy it is to extract extra HP from it,no way in HELL I'm paying $100k+ for a damn Jeep Cherokee that's marginally quicker (stock) and most likely doesn't handle as well(never driven one so Im guessing) as an X3M.

I do love the concept of a 700+hp SUV though and it sounds 10x better than an X3M (IMO). I'm just not willing to shell out that entry fee to play

If ease of modding for more HP was my goal Id buy a Mustang GT or Camaro and have at it.
