IND F97 X3M LCI Rear Reflector Insert Set

Anyone figure out how to put these in without dropping the rear bumper?

I had the fronts put on yesterday when they installed my MSS springs, but they called me and said it would be $500 to do the rear since they have to drop the entire rear bumper.

Hoping someone has figured out how to do it without.

That's a ridiculous quote! I always do front/rear however, on the LCI the rear reflectors don't bother me as they are smoked.

Unfortunately you have to remove the bumper partially. The clips are a pain to detach while bumper is on and you risk damaging bumper if you try to pop it out from the front.. is not as easy as Pre LCI

Similar to this topic - just noticed my dealer didn't reinstall the bumper correctly all the way. There's a slight gap by the weather stripping/strike plate for the hatch. To add insult to injury I moved out of state to have them address it

To those familiar with it - any guides on how to properly seat the bumper?

I just did the rears by taking out rear tail lights. The rear tail lights are removed with 2 10 mm bolts and 10 mm bolt (inside the car). That gives you access to the top connector to compress. Then you can get access to push the bottom one and wiggle it out (broke the bottom snap on one reflector but the other came out ok).

To get the tail light off, you will need to open the panel inside on the sides and you will see another 10mm bolt to remove. I did find a video of someone doing a retrofit of LCI lights on a non LCI X3 to point out that bolt.

Worked like a charm! Except I dropped one of the bolts while taking it out and had to rip the back apart to find it lol

Glad it worked out. Figured it was worth a try vs taking the complete bumper off. Looks good.
