So, I’ve only been apart of the BMW community for a short time… but I think I set the tune only record today for this platform. I’ve searched Dragy, and other sources, but can’t find a quicker or faster X3 out there with an OTS tune. Obviously I know this and .50 cents will get me a cup of coffee, however, I love friendly competition. I’d ask any if you guys know of a quicker or faster 1/8th mile 1/4 mile, or 1/2 mile than what I posted here today?

This is an OTS BM3 E-30 tune only. No downpipes, no filters, nothing but factory hardware other than the simple tune. Again, I’m not being boastful, just asking if anyone knows of a faster car than mine as of now? I appreciate the replies, and look forward to reading what you guys post.

That’s hustling! What tires do you have? 34 degrees out - you obviously didn’t have any traction problems did you?

It definitely felt quick today. It spun through 1st gear going into 2nd… I’ve cut low 1.6 60’ times in this car, but considering the cold weather out today, I’ll take that 1.7 60’. Tires were about 75* at the time I launched with 39 psi in the rears. It’s on the factory Conti’s. Believe it or not, most of the time they dead hook in my lil spot I go for testing.

So it seems there is an X3 that ran a 10.57... But he has downpipes and is a stage 2 tune. I'll stand proud on my 10.65 with all factory hardware including untouched factory downpipes.

I've done a 10.57 tune only (custom tune), as well as a 2.75 0-60, I have some Dragy results which are public and are also posted here on various threads.

Glad you replied to my thread, I appreciate it. I guess I stepped on my tongue… I should’ve clarified my position on tune only. Again, I’m new to this forum, as well as BMW. I came from the Porsche, and Mclaren world where tune only means tune only! No downpipes, no custom air boxes, no secret sauce, just a tune. I am quickly learning what tune only means here. This is not directed at you, I’ve seen your dragy numbers, you’re fast, but I think a custom tune is different than an OTS map. Anyway, I appreciate your reply and hope to catch you when I get my custom tune… btw.. this is my wife’s daily so I won’t be going crazy to chase any records, it’s all in fun.

In a previous post you mentioned a guy who got 10.57 was stage 2 with DP's and stage 2.
That isn't me, but it the exact same time I have achieved. I haven't even opened the airbox to change my stock filters, car still runs stock plugs.

A tune only means absolutely no hardware has been touched, I don't think anyone would disagree with that.

If you are looking for a record, a best "OTS map" would be a good claim for you to make. The time you achieved given that is phenomenal.

My times on the OTS map were more like a 10.8 from memory.

Thanks for your added details about your car… like I said, it’s all in good fun. I hope to challenge a few people for the “record” soon. I honestly had no idea what it was, that’s why I asked if my pass was or not? I think competition is good for everyone as it brings better software, and hardware to the platform.

I went out and attempted another shot at the B58 world record. At very similar temps and DA as you. It was 29 degrees out. I tried getting the Continentals warmed up. And Im sure I have less HP than you tuned S58 guys and I spin all the way through 1st from LC to redline. 😐

Compared to the 10.49 that was tune only on e50 it's just a crazy DA on a flex fuel kit I believe. Makes sense when you take in consideration the at least -2k DA.

Gotta heat them tires up. I learned a lot from a track day I went to. I'm going to start prelaunching this like my RS3 to knock the shit of the tires and warm them up. I would be knocking on the "tune only" record if I could get a slightly better start.

-By prelaunch I mean initiate LC and let it go through first gear and spin it's ass off. Put in reverse, reset, and go.

I classify as Tune Only but I do clarify that I deleted the charcoal filters and the midsection delete. No performance parts have been added, but I do think they make a difference. That's a solid e30 time, I didn't run mine on e30 as I knew I was going custom tune. So I just have the 93 Oct as my base file. My 7.38 60-130 proves to be hopeful to get my 10.4 full weight and had the run for it but I pushed through the brakes and creeped ever so slightly at the start. It's been a hot winter in Houston or I may have more chances to do so.

I'll also make some quick weight reduction mods soon. Trunk gear is 5 min and working on finding a way to knock out the rear seats in another 10-15 min. Otherwise I don't plan on doing much else.
