Ugh I am really considering switching right to PS4S when my car gets here... Is it as noticeable as you'd hoped?

I had the stock continentals on my 2018 OG M2 for 10k miles and went to PS4S and never looked back.

My 2020 X3MC won the lottery and came with the PS4S. My wife's off the lot came with the Contis. We didn't have any preconceived ideas of better-best, but after a few thousand miles my wife was considering after-market suspension to improve the ride/road feel. I suggested we at least try switching out to the PS4S first... end of story.

She had two requirements with the LCI - 'ZDM' and PS4S tires. As the LCI came with Contis our Dealership kindly switched out for her old PS4S. So your question goes more to someone new at the game, whereas we knew exactly what we wanted.

Appreciate the insight! Nice pair of cars. I hope I win a lottery, it's time for some Michelin's 🤣

I believe the tech docs claim these wheels are 4 lbs lighter each

I get comments on mine all the time. It's almost baby blue in direct sun and it gets more gray as it gets darker out.

I've had some questions via PM so thought I'd clarify some of them:

Rear Wiper installation - how to and is it difficult?
Appreciation goes to Dobie Dog for bringing it up in his build thread and giving some of us the idea. Here are three links to specific posts in his thread that clarifies how easy it is to do:
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...2&postcount=67
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=69
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=70

Blacking out the chrome badge lettering on the grill and sides- how did you do it?:
sayemthree has an entire thread in which various methods were discussed as some of us felt that the chrome should've actually been blacked-out (at least on the Competition version) to match how they appear elsewhere in the vehicle. Plus the black seems to give a more aggressive aesthetic. I explained in the following two post links how I did it using an oil paint marker. Inexpensive, takes about 10-15', and I've been impressed how well it has held up over all these months (edit - adding image of the current LCI chrome blacking-out for the PM questions):
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...1&postcount=25
https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showp...6&postcount=35

Where can we get the good license plate bracket?
In the link to the whole thread about the paint damage issue with the poorly-designed license plate bracket which I shared above, it was post#9 where j080808 was the one who found the good one many of us are using:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thought I'd take a few images in the dark to show how the lights look with and without the brakes applied (hard to get the resolution and lighting right with a cell phone but at least the pattern shows how they appear).
Nice Ride, Your posts are always informative- much appreciated

Agree, and I think even some slight mint/green undertones reflecting off the hood as I drove through intermittent rain, clouds and sun this morning. It's a subtle color with some intriguing aspects to it for sure - dependent not only on the amount of light but also direction/time of day.

Can't help you go through your decision tree(s), x3mghost, but hoping you can reach a conclusion. As everyone has been trying to share, this color offers different perspectives depending on the lighting. I'm attaching an image that was taken 9 minutes prior to the one I posted earlier this afternoon. The storms had passed but the clouds hadn't cleared yet.

The key will be enjoying it once you have the chance to drive on the open roads, and perhaps a bit less worry about what others think if you like it.

That is the problem I'm facing... Unless I see one in person BG is out.

I would have love Glacier Silver (NLA) so I will probably stick with my present colour, Dark Graphite.

Thanks for sharing. It looks great.

I am awaiting a pretty much identically spec’d car aside from the roof delete. I’m wishing I’d considered that earlier on.

I have enjoyed the pano roof in my M40i the 4-6 times I’ve opened it in 3 years.

PS: On the roof weight… My HS Autoshop teacher taught us that ever 100lbs is 1/10th in the 1/4 mile.

Those wheels look superb. Can't wait until we can order these wheels for our 2020 & 2021 cars. Are you running the stock tires sizes... ?

Aside from the paint's unique characteristics in the light, I think it is the early morning sun angle I'm using for all of my images which may also be contributing to the different tints. The one appearing almost AW is getting a near direct side shot at 0903AM sun position. Mid-afternoon images (as many share) won't have as much effect on the side panels like these do.

Thanks – looking forward to seeing your pics as well! Here's another view of the top without the pano. Interesting on the weight and ¼ time savings. Hoping my wife will let me take her to the Strip sometime in the Winter after break-in and when the DAs will be reasonable. But first I want to break the 11.6s barrier for a stock X3MC with mine. Was so close the last time (.05s off). Considering the significant wt savings per wheel in unsprung and rotational, would think the LCI will be even faster (that and the improved torque).

Thanks – all stock. Since I’m interested in performance over aesthetic we’ll be staying stock, but gotta agree that the 265/295 combo some are running on their pre-LCI look amazing.

I like this shot of the rear. In this pic, BG contrasts well with the updated LCI gloss black lower valence. Difference of the roof without Pano clearly evident as well. Clean shot.
