Headlights need to be changed with the grill.

I've been looking at the various threads and videos over the last few days, and I've come to the conclusion that it's a mess, the MP version is utterly dreadful and it's not what I look for in a car.
At moment if I think about all the performance cars available from all brands there isn't one that I would say oh God that's awful....until BMW released this. I actually feel a bit sad, I've had 4 M3s from e46 to F80 it was my favourite performance car, and "the" quintessential M car and they have buggered it up.

The all black indeed looks very aggressive. I think that's the only color that works with that grill.

Still pretty bad. Its not just the grills but also the headlights and lower intakes that need to be scrapped to fix the mess that is the G8X.

Ideal 'designs' can be derived, but unless they meet the mm tolerances which M Division demands after tweaking during hundreds of hours of wind tunnel testing and fluid dynamics simulations then none of them matter in the end.
Point is, at least IMHO, there should be a way to meet the aerodynamic and engine cooling requirements the M aero-engineering teams demand without having the large frontal grill which it appears the design and marketing teams are seemingly stressing. I suspect there was a lot of compromise between the groups and probably some heated discussions (speculation on my part as to how the final design arrived) |

I noticed that C&D claims in their last article that "Peak torque of 406 lb-ft is served up on a plateau from 2650 to 6130 rpm on the regular models, while the somewhat sharper Competition models produce 479 lb-ft from 2750 to 5500 rpm."
If that's true, which I question, then peak torque shows up about 400rpm sooner in the M3. Our vehicles has peak torque coming in at about 3200rpm. |

That document doesn't make sense in the way that I read it. The F80/82 doesn't make peak torque at 1800rpm nor does it maintain it to 5500rpm. So the number range represent a range in a percentage of peak torque. That or they just lie.
This also means that the C&D statement is just wrong. |

Ill be in a G80 awd car for sure come next summer. I got the X3M comp to try out the drive train and I couldnt be more excited for something smaller and lighter. This thing with a BM3 is already a monster so less weight and better aero should be a killer combo. Plus those carbon buckets.... are you kidding me!!! they look sweet.

My original plans were to trade my F97 for a G80 but I'm going to keep the F97 as I didn't expect to like it so much. I've now turned my attention from the G80 to hunting down a really nice E90 M3 6MT.
