Tyre Pressures

After just 2000 miles on my MY22 X3MC, the factory supplied rear continentals are wearing in the centre, leading me to check whether the rears are over inflated.

iDrive is reporting my pressures are 37psi front and 37psi rear, and a search on this forum suggests 33 psi for the front and 38 psi for the rear.

However, the label on the door shut suggests something different.
Rear (265/40 ZR 21) should be 33 psi for speeds up to 155 for 3 adults
Front (255/40 ZR 21) also 33 psi for three adults up to speeds of 155mph

I don’t have the drivers pack, so my car is limited to 155mph, so unless I’m loading it with luggage, there is no need to run them at higher pressures.

Have I read the label correctly?

Here is a photo of my label.

If you check the owners manual there is two pages dedicated to different tire pressures for different size tires and speed limits (over or under 100 mph) - for my 2020 anyway.

I recall reading a recent thread on uneven wear - try searching for it (on my phone now).

My thread involved a defect in the tire. One dealer said deal with it but my regular dealer replaced the tire under warranty.

My printed owners handbook refers to the label on the door pillar and does not specify the tyre pressures, so I only have the label shown above to go on.

I read through the entirety of your thread and I don’t think I have the same problem. Your photo showed a narrow stripe of unusual damage, my tyres look fine other than lower tread depth in the centre.

I’ll drop my pressures to 33psi all round today and will monitor the fuel consumption which may deteriorate.
