Hi all, I've noticed on my 2022 LCI X3M Competition that when the vehicle gets up to normal operating temp on the water temp gauge ( 100 ) when I'm driving every now and then it drops back down to just above cold ? It doesn't stay there for long and goes back up to normal and it doesn't affect the car in anyway but I've noticed it does do it a few times on a journey ? Anyone else experienced this at all ?

Cheers - Leo

How are you monitoring water temp? If you're talking about the temp gauge on the dash that should be oil temp...which will indeed move around based off load, what the oil coolers are doing, etc. It's not a "fake" gauge so movement with temps is normal and expected.

No mate, it's the actual water temp gauge on the R/H widget with the boost pressure gauge underneath the water temp.

Water temp fluctuations are normal, but the main thing is that the temp doesn't climb too high. People getting concerned about regular temp movements in the cooling system are why a lot of manufactures went to dumb/buffered gauges that just 'park' in one spot (middle usually) and never move.

I'm pre-LCI so I've only got the oil temp on the cluster.
