This is ending week 7. Monday begins week 8. I was told week 8. I called the genius hotline on this past Wednesday to double check and the agent told me I would be assembled on 2/19/22 which is tomorrow however here we are; assembled today. Certainly they have the final inspection and what not done by tomorrow and that makes it on schedule. Spartanburg operates 7-days a week.

I have a feeling it's a 2 week trek for the train and then truck…oh geez, the waiting is agonizing as I recall from last time.

Edit: went to Quality Check as I was going to bed

You'll get yours delivered first since you're in NY.

Once it's carrier assignment, it might be real quick. BMW told me it could be weeks for shipping, but it was like 4 days.

You're on the east coast; so lucky when it comes to delivery from Spartanburg….us west coasters have a long haul all the way across the country….your 4 days will be minimum multiplied by 2 for us out here. Ha

Oh damn.

Anyone else disappointed they don't cover the cars better for shipping? When mine arrived it was just the hood and roof covered, and the roof plastic covering was pulling off and probably just flapping around on the paint. I see those Audi's being transported and they are totally wrapped up.

I believe they take good care of the vehicle while being transported to begin with. You'd never know if there was incidental damage because they'll repair it at the VPC before being delivered to the sales center. For me I hope for the best and that nothing is wrong and the color matches etc. lol

They do take extra good care of the cars. But unless it's a X7 or 7 series & above (the standard hood & roof PPF is sufficient). Mine was lightly bumped during transport. However, BMW corrected it so damn well "at the VPC" that it impossible to tell. Even with a trained eye. And just so you know, IF there was damage during transport above $3k of the vehicle's MSRP, then he dealer is required to give you a "disclosure" stating what was fixed.

Was your damage over $3k? If not, did they voluntarily tell you it was damaged?

Perhaps the system is not updating real time? Missed a scan? Call your Sales Advisor; mine said she has an estimated arrival to the local port. Mine just moved status this morning to dispatched from factory. Hope yours is moving soon!

Yes it was. Since the VPC can bill & charge BMW full price for (labor + paint + parts), it easily added up to about $3.1 k for simply respraying the rear bumper cover, one rear wheel arch trim & the bottom portion of the lift gate. All that for a simple scratch that took place during transport.

Wow that's just nuts. Imagine how much damage is just under the threshold…yikes.
