Who will pay the most & the fastest for a used X3 MC... ?

To make a long story short we're getting rid of one of our X3 M Competitions. Many of our used cars have fetched pretty good coin from an acquisition specialist I know pretty well at a local Mercedes dealership. He works for KBB and is there buy back guru. It's usually a quick 20-30 minute process and they give me great value for my used cars. Letting me walk away without any hassle as they handle most of the paperwork on their end.

But... I would like to know what companies you all tend to work with because perhaps we could get a little more for our nice car. THANK YOU in advance!

If you own it, I have very good experiences with Carvana and Vroom. Unfortunately BMW and Mercedes will not allow them to assume leases so the car has to be titled in your name.

It's not just BMW and Mercedes, it's MOST of the manufacturers right now.
They want their leases back to sell.

They're giving good trade in rates at the sales centers. They're sending out letters even 9-months BEFORE lease end. I received an emailed letter just yesterday.

My wife's Dodge Durango is a lease and we have received probably 15 letters talking about the lease buy-back, etc. Prices are so crazy right now. I got $1300 more for my RS3 than I paid for it back in 2020.

That's a bummer because you hit the nail on the head with this on. It's a lease so I'll have to stick to semi local dealerships. Or a private party willing to finance it.

If you have the cash on hand and the residual on your XM3C is reasonable, you could find out your buyout price, purchase it and then sell it via Carvana or Vroom. That is what I did with my 2019 Mercedes GLC 63 AMG. I had a couple months left on that lease, bought it out for $45K after taxes and sold it to Carvana for $68K.

Best part is they want to rail you on the offer sheet and maximize their profits. 4 dealers in NY offered to take the car off my hands, no fees or penalties. I simply replied politely, "fuck you" walked out and now have an 8k offer from a wholesaler.

Whenever considering selling a car outright, remember the tax advantages of trading the car in first, depending on your state tax laws. In my state you only pay taxes on the difference between purchase price and trade allowance. That could amount to several thousand dollars. So any 3rd party offer would have to be higher by at least the tax savings amount + an amount that makes it worth your time and effort selling to a 3rd party.

This car was a purchase, not a lease. So maybe I should've clarified that sooner. I appreciate all the help thus far guys. Carvana, Vroom & Shift are all companies that I'll be gathering quick quotes from now.
