Hey Moff, this is my understanding too. I specc'd mine with lasers just because I wanted the latest tech. The LED matrix selectively lights up as needed (rather than pivoting the entire lamp like my 1M did). I haven't done enough night driving to notice the lasers moving or not, but I can say that the road and signs are very well lit.
