New 2021 X3MC - E85 Question

Just picked up a new 2021 X3MC. Only had 12 miles on it and I'm the only driver, weeeeee! I'm still up in the air on BM3 since it is a lease and there's a flurry of info about the detections of tuning. There is apparently a gas station close by that has E85. Without coding, is it even worth getting E85, or even mixing with 93? Thanks.

Yes, I saw a big difference in power and cleaner logs by just adding 2-3 gals to my already almost full tank of 93.

Depending on your production date you may or not be able to Flash tune via BM3.
Either way you will most likely need a OBD Patch, which helps (detection of Tuning).

PM if any questions or check out the @TristateBM3 guys @BM3Tuning they do all the OBD Patch, Bench Read, and done 99% of all S58 (X3M/X4M) in North East

Thanks for the info FSociety The production date is on the manufacturing label (with GVWR and tire info) on the drivers door jam, correct? If so my manufacture date is 11/20. I believe from browsing some of the threads that it is not flash tunable via BM3 yet....I still haven't decided (if it becomes available) if I will. Signs point to yes...pay to play! I'm also considering RaceChip. Being a lease, an in-line alternative is a bit more appealing.

Lacking BM3 tune, is there a good logging solution to consider? I don't have to do anything in order to add some E85 on a tank of 93?

BM3 logs quite well. I am selling my license if you are interested, very easy to transfer to you.

And yes, just need to measure your E85 content and mix correctly for the E30 tune.

Protool by BimmerGeeks is an awesome tool. Logs anything you want, reads fault codes and you can do coding. Connection via Bluetooth.

Your build date is after the jun2020 threshold after which DMES are locked. No flash tune for now

Well there is flash tunes available via obd, but only the calibration area and with femto unlock. Works rather well, it’s only limiting for add ons like portinjection and full flex fuel.

But this can still be added even with only femto unlock.
