Unknown Oil Level Warning - Fixed

Interesting. For me they just said it had too much, drained it, and, refilled, and that was the end of it, but I had this done a few weeks ago, so I suppose it's possible there was no bulletin out on it yet.

I just got this message yesterday. The oil measurement read at max when I tested through iDrive.
I am still a bit confused though; does this only happen when the oil is overfilled or can it happen even if the level is normal due to software? In another thread, people have claimed a dealer trip wasn't required but sounds like it is regardless of cause (oil overfill vs. software). I recently had the oil changed at the dealer on Dec 22nd and have about ~200 miles on it since then. |
