Is there a lower rev limit set during the 1200 mile break in period? And do they remove it at that time of the service? The maintenance schedule says: “Deactivate running in check”

Nope - you’re fully capable from mile 1, but the rev limit recommendations are in place for 1200 and 3100 mile intervals. Launch control is available, but not recommended. Service is inspection and oil change. I believe the schedule note means they turn the reminder message off and reset your service needed reminders to next interval.

5500rpm limit and 106mph limit for run in, but obviously you can exceed that if you want to.

I test drove an X3MC with 3 miles on the odometer and the salesman encouraged me nonstop to wind it out. I hit it once and can faithfully say that the car will pull strong all the way to redline before the 1,200mi service.

Didn't end up buying it...having a dealership employee sit next to you and push you to beat on a brand new car is kind of disconcerting. Ended up getting an F80 from a totally different dealer.
