6 months and no production allocation???
Placed an order for an X3M Comp back on 2/8/22 and have repeatedly been told by dealer that they haven't been granted a production allocation. Hoping month 7 [Sept] is a winner (as I have every month), but curious if anyone else has been dealing with this on X3M? Thanks

Assuming you provided a deposit, that dealer has made a half-year's interest on your money. That would be justification enough to obtain a refund and do what JOHNBMWM5 suggests.

Yes, only 2k however they will honor all the original rebates [as well as no premium to MSRP] and given the '22 to '23 price hike, seems like i'll be getting fleeced on pricing. Really the only reason I didn't ripcord earlier.
They've assured me this is a chronic BMW issue regarding M cars but tough for me to imagine this has continued for half a year. Frustrating is an understatement. |

Find another dealer. I got M3 allocation immediately last June 2021. Just got an X3M allocation for my wife with the assist of a member here that gave me a lead. Called a bunch of local dealers and some only had 1 the entire year. Found a dealer with 2 available. Production week 36. Look for a M Certified dealer. Allocations are out there for MSRP.

Definitely agree - find a new dealer (or work with a broker - there's one on here who is so easy to work with).
That - or if you'd like you can do a lease assumption on mine. 31 months remaining, I've only got a tick over 2k miles on it. Graphite / Adeliade - loaded except DAP. Good luck with whatever you do!

I'm also in the same boat. Ordered an X3MC at the end of April and put down a deposit. Waiting on an allocation. My dealer has told me that I should still expect delivery in November, which I'm fine with if that ends up happening.

Yeah I echo the reports of others here, call around for an allocation at MSRP.. I called around the same time you placed your order (in Jan ) and got an allocation at MSRP immediately, got 2000 dollars off MSRP in rebates, and I've had the car since mid Feb. 6 months is way too long.
Long wait times may be true for like M3/M4s but that's not the case with the X3M. There are allocations out there. The dealer is lying to you about this being a chronic BMW issue. This is an issue for your dealer, but not other dealers. |

Maybe to stretch this a bit further… when talking to a dealer they will have you thinking the X3M is in high demand but after having talked to a few dealers charging over and one I walked away from they are not to the level of an M3 and some dealers weren't happy they actually had an X3M allocation. Probably due to more people wanting more traditional M cars making them more valuable to a dealer.
Call around. Don't pay anything more than MSRP before incentives. |

Any BMW dealer can sell you a X3 M but only a certain amount of allocations are given to dealers. First, the dealer needs to have sold a M car prior. The more M’s they sell, the more likely they will be to get an allocation. If a dealer has sold 1 or 2 M cars over the past year or 2 they may get an allocation or 2. If the dealer has not sold an M in the past year they may or may not get an allocation.
You need to find a dealer that has sold a good number of M’s and has a 23 allocation. Forget a 22 if the car is not already in Production. Some dealers will tell you all they need is an order and a deposit to get an allocation. That’s not true. Even if your dealer does get an allocation you have no way to know if you are first in line or 4th. Look in major metropolitan markets. Dealers near NYC, Atlanta, LA, San Fran will likely all sell multiple M’s per year. Finding one is those markets are easier although there may be a “Market Adjustment” added to M’s in major metro areas. Do some research on volume M dealers. Even if you have to wait the odds of you actually getting one improves greatly. Best of luck to you! |

The Spartanburg plant produces ~1,500 X vehicles per day, I can't imagine how M allocations can be limited to 4 for the whole US? https://www.bmwgroup-werke.com/spartanburg/en.html |

So ~7k X3M and X4Ms built in 2021, ~583 per month. For the sake of discussion, if 10% are for the US there should be 58 allocations per month. So they are rare as we know, but back to the OP point, doesn't seem like it should take 6 months+ to get an allocation. : |

I love seeing the actually production numbers for these F97's. Show's they're a touch more special than people realize.

You can literally choose any dealer in the US. Can be shipped or picked up in Spartanburg. There is no way the current dealer will honor the rebates or APR from Feb. I forget the window, but they only have like 90-120 days to close the deal under the then-offered terms. My dealer won't even take the deposit unless they know they have an allocation coming.
