Metal m foot rest

Are the M cars not ment to come with the m foot rest? Mine has the usual black plastic from rest of the x3 range. Is it just UK cars that are missing it or is it just mine? Only just noticed it when cleaning car.

I have also noticed this on my UK car. It looks pretty naff. US models seem to have nice shiny metal ones - see 6m40s+ of this clip:

Yes it is not great - but they seem to have given EU spec cars the M-seatbelts before the US (as per the seatbelt threat) so we win some, we lose some!
I'll bet that retro-fitting of some shiny metal pads is a lot easier and cheaper then M-seatbelts !

Garage List
Also... the advertised hp in the U.K. is 510, whereas the US is 503...

Is there actually a difference, or just BMW playing down the power more in the US?

Yea guess its just bit if money saving on some markets then, al see how much it is to replace it if possible from my dealer as black one looks really cheap compared to the one in pictures and videos.

That's interesting I had not spotted that difference. I wonder whether this is related to the OPF filters EU models have to be fitted with? These also mean our exhausts sound rather muted compared to the US ones - no snap, crackle and pop
