Hi thanks! I do too…I'm wondering if I were to reorder which I doubt I will, I sold my 440i in June, if the PAP that is rumored to be limited & not on the website will still be available. I don't know if the lumbar is worth possibly losing out on other features. And my car should be here by the end of this week. I wish they would have contacted the people with the option removed & given us a choice, credit, retrofit, delaying production. It's taking the excitement out of the car arriving.

Thanks for checking. 493 is what they told me. I have the code, but no rails. Just one more thing missing.

What I'm worried about is what else is missing, that may be buried in some sub-menu somewhere, i.e. a feature I should have, and paid for but has been deleted. And potentially worse, I don't catch at delivery but 2 months later after the boat has sailed.

I'm supposed to drive to Maine and pick mine up Thursday morning, and honestly, right now I could care less.

To give the "other" German brand their due, they detailed every item that was missing on the sticker.

Man I'm sorry. I honestly was super excited yesterday & now I'm a little bummed out. I feel silly saying that. I need to decide if I should call my CA or wait until he lets me know my car arrived later in the week.

Thanks, and don't feel silly being bummed out about the way BMW is handling this. They're not giving these things away and as consumers, we're entitled to get what we pay for.

Just spoke with my dealer they called BMW about this waiting on reply. Apparently 5+ M40i they have on order including mine do not have 487.

Yes, it turns out a batch of the first few weeks of '23s were produced without Driver Lumbar Support, I believe this is temporary. My car was one of them. She was able to swap an allocation for me and I will get the same exact car just a few weeks later with Driver Lumbar support.

Heads up - code 487 is necessary... without it, you are not getting lumber.

When you order an expensive car and the build changes a call is expected at that time to explain the situation. No one should show up to a delivery and find out that options are missing.

I made a list of what is an absolute must have for me-

carplay
touchscreen
HK stereo
real leather
black wheels
comfort access
lumbar due to lower back issues

I could care less about any other options but if the above gets pulled, my 68k is going somewhere else... i just dont know where lol.

Are you talking about code 493 or different code? And was it on your Monroney sticker, or in F12? Another user, I believe netgear, posted in week 32 thread that his sticker had 493 listed, but he didnt have rails. So I am curious if presence of 493 could be reliable linked with presence of rails!!!!

It would be good to nail that down. I thought that it was, but maybe not. Basically with the exception of bigger / staggered wheels, wireless charging, the rear window sunshades, and the m-diff I think I have about every option and got no rails. I know - I ordered red calipers. Yeah, that deleted the rails.

Just to add insult to injury the m40i they're using for stock photos on the dealer's site has the rails.

It makes as much sense as anything else.... I honestly have no freaking idea. All I know is to retrofit is going to cost a lot of money. If I decide to keep the car.

--Told the dealer yesterday before goes in production you better get me lumbar or you will be stuck with a fully loaded car, i doubt anyone would want to pay max price for... Well, looks like dealer is going to have a hard sell.. I hit every box.

I haven't been able to get the window sticker from my dealer yet, which I find somewhat ominous. I went with a 3rd party Monroney service that was extremely accurate for Audi but doesn't appear to be for BMW.

In terms of standard features, it's incomplete, notice the M adaptive suspension is not listed. Unless they took that out. How would I know? it also lists the seats incorrectly as it mentions Width Adjustments which we know don't come on ventilated seats.

Apparently, I can get it if I drive 125 miles to the dealership. This makes me wonder if there are any more surprises.
