New X3 discounts
Ready to order a 2.0 X3 and wondered if anyone was managing to get a descount from the dealer. My local dealer said they can't budge on the list price. What are people's experiences?

I didnt manage a discount but ordered in early November
Try another dealer (From experience BMW dealers do tend to respect other dealers patches by telephone but will do anything to get an order face to face whether within their region or not) Discount levels will also depend on your final specification, the more optional extras the greather possibility of discount Also payment method - dont accept no for an answer, ask to speak to his sales manager

Here in NC/SC, they aren't budging on prices at all. The X3 is selling by itself, and the dealers know that if one person doesn't buy it, someone is coming in the next day to put a deposit down on it.
Which makes me think, when will the new X3 craze die down? :dontknow: |

Some uk dealers are now offering discounts but then basic price for any trade in. Most simply don't need to discount as they can sell full price. I was lucky as a previous customer but shop around and you might get lucky.

I think if you order a lot of options and push hard you can get a discount at the point when you're ready to hand over a deposit. I got about 5% but 2.5% of this was holding VAT at 17.5%. I think if I was better at negotiating I could have got more given the amount of options on my order. Good luck

http://www.costcoauto.com/enterzipco...2fdefault.aspx You need to go the dealer to see the pricing.
Simple try on Zag, http://amexnetwork.zag.com/main.html you'll get $1400 above invoice price on NC Zip Code |

I paid about $300.00 over invoice and my order was the first of my dealer's allotment. I also got free chrome exhaust tips and floormats. I took delivery on February 10, 2011.

Cooldude, which dealer did you manage to get your discount from? I have only tried my local dealer who said they had no need to offer reductions as they were selling so many. I am prepared to travel to get a good deal.

I first went through the costco auto program only, but the dealer mentioned he will give me 500 over invoice, but the costco dealer was atleast 50 miles away from myplace, so I actually ended up negotiating with my local dealer mentioning the offer I had with the other dealer, local dealer finally agreed to 500 over invoice. I also found that both costco program prices and zag (amex) network prices are same. Hope this helps.

Not sure if the msrp changes every month or so. If you happen to ask the dealer about the Costco program, at the same time ask to see their pricing list. I wasn't in person in the situation stated above so I'm not sure if the dealer was inflating the price but I was interested in getting an IS350 before deciding on a X3 and the Lexus dealership I went to had a giant list stating the Costco pricing on all their vehicles including different engines for it. |

In Finland without a trade-in you might get a discount of 2-3%. With trade-in we pay the sticker price but the amount paid for trade-ins vary greatly between dealers. I am trading-in my E91 and the difference between the lowest and the highest offer was 5000 euros (almost $7000)! I am very happy that I spoke with a few different dealers and didn't accept the first (&worst) offer.

I used Broadspeed (internet broker) and used that to negotiate with my local dealer with a p/x - this was back in early Jan. You can try the same though I understand from them now that demand is v high having taken about 40 orders already so may not be willing to reduce much.

I did not have any success in getting much of a discount. I bought an X3 off the lot that another person did not pick up after it was custom-ordered. There are very few reasons for the dealers to offer discounts at this time. Perhaps after the middle of the year when demand starts to slacken.
BMW is also running some major ad campaigns on the X3 here in Florida. I have seen numerous commercials and a ton of print advertising. |

Anyone interested in a very good deal try contacting David Aviles from Northwest BMW. His website is eurocarsonline.com. I just recently bought a BMW from him and his price for US delivery BMWs except for the new 1M coupe is invoice plus $100 document fee plus tax and tag. I am trying to get my mother in law to get the new X3 and would not even try to deal with the dealers in South Florida for the new X3 because they mark up cars like they are gold. I know because I tried on my new BMW. I saved a few thousand doing a PCD via David. Even shipping the car via his dealer is cheaper than the local dealers.
For the members on the west coast, try contacting Ryan Amico from Steve Thomas BMW or forum member GOLFFRR. Their deal was not as good as David's deal, but it was pretty close. Hope this helps a few members to get some good deals on the new X3.
