Remote 3D view

Has anyone got this to fully work? I've been through all the threads about people having issues. Done all the resets, profile delete, app delete/install.

Best I can tell, it only works when the car is locked and the mirrors are unfolded. If I have the mirrors auto fold, I get errors in the connected app. If I fold manually, it will successfully complete, but no side pictures and a message stating the mirrors can't be manually folded.

Not critical but wondered if anyone had this issue, and if you find a resolution outside of leaving the mirrors always unfolded.

This whole process works great on my wife's m340 for reference. That does have live cockpit pro with ID7.

Works for me, it is slow and takes a few minutes but it works. It also unfolds the mirrors for me.

only had it work once. mirrors are always auto folded in. it was a cool idea but I've since wrote it off

Same, always errors for me. Mirrors are set to fold on lock. So maybe that's why for me.

I have my mirrors set to auto fold when locked. It works for me, just takes a few minutes.
It will pop the side mirrors out when you try to use it, and put fold them back up once its done.

Thanks guys, i've tried most suggestions from the threads and I still get "Camera system could not be activated". I suppose I can call BMW to see what might be happening.

Glad to hear it actually works on ID6.

Same for me. It's a very slow process (my phone will often lock the screen while it is refreshing) but it does work.

OP - If you click on the refresh button during a refresh it will give you info on the current step and if it passed or failed which may help with troubleshooting.

It's a software issue. My 3D remote was working fine from ~Oct '19 through to end of January '20 then just stopped working. I mentioned this to my dealer and they fixed it with an update. See attached PDF for SIB description.

It's always worked like a charm for me providing the mirrors are left unfolded. There have been some issues that have largely stemmed from BMW's system being down for maintenance or whatever. Just did one now while typing and worked perfectly. I have also seen them cap how many times you can do it in a single day.

It works for me but it takes so long that it's simply a novelty you do once or twice and never again.
