A new OTS version was released by BM3 over the weekend.
This did update the sport displays to display Im assuming which are accurate #s of 560 HP and TQ at the crank? And the drive ability is also improved which I didn't think it needed it but it is a lot smoother now when gently accelerating. I still get the same check engine when flashing. So I have to clear the codes 2 times like already mentioned. Once I get bored of the OTS maps I will be looking for a custom dyno tune, to squeeze and extra 5whp out of it. But that will have to come with new wheels and tires that can actually grip.

Can you elaborate on that? Mine can be a bit lurchy at low speeds, especially when the engine is cold and leaving my hilly neighborhood. Half the reason I'm researching tunes is to improve overall drive "smoothness."

This is going to be subjective to 5 people driving the car and you will get 4 different opinions but I dont think this tune improved the stock feel at all. All it did was correct the last map revision which made stock feel, feel "worse".

Burble aggressiveness is set to max 12. Duration is 3 sec. It was a super hot day and the Cat Efficiency Overrun protection kept kicking in, limiting the crazy burbles. But you get the idea. 3 min video below. Car is freaking loud if you have the burbles enabled from OEM. But I personally cant tell much difference when going from aggressiveness 8 to 12 which is crazy max. I have the wifi wireless agent and a iPhone hotspot so now I can change my maps on the fly anywhere. I have the same Stage 2 93 maps saved with just different LOUDness levels. Flaps open all the time etc. And quiet for no start up roar, no cat heating, and oem flaps. It is so convenient.

Does quiet start-up have any longevity detriment? I like the noise when out and about, but at home it just makes me feel like a bad neighbor. I wish you could program on/off based on the time, like I believe the Mustang can.

The OEM BMW option is the Cat Warm Up. This closes one of your exhaust flaps and holds your RPMs up higher and longer to warm up your Cats quicker. For AC or heating functionality and even engine oil temps and everything associated with a fully warmed up car. If you want to use BM3 to make your car quieter with or without aftermarket DP you would want to set close exhaust flaps and turn off cat heating. The RPMs then are under 1K when cold and car does not rumble when still cold. Only downside to that is I personally would not go WOT or high RPM for a longer time after starting to drive. Maybe 5 extra min or so after the Cold disappears on the dashboard. This is just my non technical problem solving here. Thats all. So if you dont rev your car when cold. There should be no issues with making it quieter.

I believe the only detriment to not having the cold start functionally would be rough running until the 02 sensors come up to temp. Perhaps more emissions. I don't see any damage to engine happening

Yessir. Burble aggressiveness level is set at maximum 12. Stock is 3. Average with a tune is 5-6.

Someone sent this to me. Something about BMW uses for new software if it detects a tune? Has anyone heard or seen this?
