Some of you are sounding like your parents..."why would you lower an SUV?"
For the same reason you lower a car. Better looks, lower center of gravity, better ride and handling. People buy the X3M because they want M3 performance with more usability and space. No one buys an X3M because they "want a higher sitting ride." That being said this example is too low. |

Does the Comp car have hard suspension - yes! Why? It's a Competition Pack car. Does it handle amazingly well? Yes. The key issue is not the harder suspension than the non M models, it's the noise from the suspension that's the annoying trait of the car.

Granted I've only had my non comp X3M for a little over a week, but the ride has been fine so far, and not a beat down at all. And I'm in sport+ mode always. Maybe the comp is different and more harsh, can only speak for non comp as mentioned.

F80 is way more comfortable and has softer dampening characteristics while having higher chassis rigidity. So the F80 is tight but composed. I believe this is because the F8X was essentially built from the ground up; comfort mode in the x3m sort of rides how the f80 runs in sports plus (suspension). Comfort mode in the X3m should be the sport or sport plus mode because comfort is so rigid. The suspension calibration is really bad. I never switch the adaptive suspension; stays in comfort. The truck is always bouncing - not out of control like a race springs on a stock damper; more like over sprung springs and shocks if that makes any sense. Very firm truck. Mostly driven in lower NY. Its my least favorite ///M. On a positive it does move, not F90 fast, but impressive if you need to GTFO....you DO have to use the whole powerband. I am sure the G80 will have longer legs since the cats have been moved further away from the turbos. |

Looks great overall! I am a fan of the drop. Although I can't help thinking that with the racing stripes this looks like an AMG Edition One model

Gorgeous wrap but if you need to lower an SUV, you bought the wrong vehicle. Attachment 2511519
