18 X3 M40i Brakes?

Looking for suggestions on where to buy rotors and pads/sensors for our 2018 X3 M40i. It's not looking like a cheap job. I'd prefer a kit from somewhere that had all the parts.

Here is the parts listed on tirerack's website, but you can search the part by part numbers and see if its cheaper someplace else for a starting point other than a stealership.

You probably don't need rotors.

I second this. I wouldn't think you need new rotors yet

A set of pads will have worn the disk below the minimum thickness these days. Your only allowed 0.8mm wear on each side (1.6mm in total or just over 1/16") before they are recommended to be changed.

That's the same on the front and rear disks.

Just did rear pads, no rotors last week. No issues and a straightforward job. You’ll have to manually retract the parking brake, but there are plenty of videos out there and it’s easy to do.

For front rotors there is a OE Zimmerman option available in the original two piece design: ZIM-150293632 for front left and ZIM-150293732 for front right. Can be hard to find, but cheaper than BMW branded.

Personally, I did not replace the rear rotors when I did the rear pads at 34k, but I did change the front rotors when I did the front pads at 44k.

Hey- I need to do my front brake rotors & pads in the spring (will be at ~50K miles) and wanted to get the parts from FCP Euro. According to your Zimmerman #, these are correct parts....but FCP site states the rotors also fits X3 xDrive30i and sDrive30i. Are the brake ROTORS the SAME for ALL G01 X3 models (4cy & 6cy engines)?
Doesn't the M40i models have "M-Sport brakes?" Can someone give my rotor sizes for the X3-M40i (with the Blue calipers) vs. X3-Drive30i (with regular calipers)?

thanks.

Yeah this confused me as well. I promise those PNs are correct. The reason they lost the 30i as well is because in some markets you could get an M package on the 30i, which includes the M40i brakes. The M package on base engines is really popular in Europe, which I speculate is due to the high petrol prices.
