Steering wheel vibration at idle?
I know there is a very long thread about vibrations when driving. That is not the case here. I am only getting vibration at idle either when the car starts up or when at a red light. Basically when at a stand still. When im driving there are no issues at all at any speed. Anyone else feel that? I dont remember feeling it when i test drove two different cars but that was months ago.

I have the same on my M40i. I think it's most noticeable at cold start, also at red light before the engine fully warms up. Once the car starts to move this slight vibration goes away. Less noticeable or non existent when car is fully warmed up.
I also tend to think it's normal, but is open to other ideas. |

I had this on my 2011 Z4, cold engine. Shook/rocked like crazy, but fine after ~10 mins or so. I was told had something to do with the VANOS during cold start.
Never had any issues with that vehicle other than a squeaky roof (was fixed though)

I’ve noticed it on an occasional cold start; usually when the car hasn’t been driven for a week or so. After warm up, smooth as glass.

Same for me, it is not a rough idle at all, just a slight vibration on the steering.

Yes, I have it too and find it very annoying. It happens every time the vehicle is in "Drive" and I come to a stop. As soon as I lift my foot off the brake, the vibration stops. If I put it in "Park", it also stops.

Yup, my new M40i has a slight vibration at idle and in park. It's more noticeable when the engine is cold. It goes away after taking off. It would be an issue for me if it didn't. Doesn't bother me as is.

lots of vibration in steering wheel on cold start up. It does improve after warming up but still noticeable. In general I find that there is a great deal of vibration transferred into the steering in this x3. I would have never imagined this to be how they are designed as my Audi had none. All a learning experience.

Bizarre. I don't have this issue at all, zero, squat vibration in the wheel. Prod date Sept 6
EDIT: my wife's 2018 X1 had this at idle/stop. Mentioned it when it was dropped off for an oil change and they adjust the idle. MINOR vibration that was present now gone. This was a couple of months ago

I would agree Jan production date lots of vibrations transfer to the steering wheel. Can also confirm my sq5 did not have this kind of vibrations either.
Anyone also grab a x5 g05 I wonder if that has the same vibrations |

so I finally looked for the date code. I presume based on this mine was made Dec 2017. this brings new light to the warning I always heard. "new purchase the first production year of a vehicle". I have had so many 1st year production vehicles and never had issues. I find it hard to believe in this day and age with the amount of automation used in vehicle production today that quality varies so greatly.
