It's a car, it's going to get chipped at some point if it ever touches the highway.

I hate washing the front of my car because there is so much rock chips from it being my daily driver. I tend to only keep cars for a year or two so I never get the protection film applied to them. Chip and swirls have never reduced my trade in value whatsoever.

I would let them repair it, like other's have said, a lot of repairs are done at port anyway.

I was the same - Full trade in price of the car of just less than £20k. After 3 years the GFMV is the same so what difference does it make?

In my case the monthly is £135 - would have been £685 or so otherwise IIRC.

I think there was nothing in either approach - except now i dont have £20k in my pocket that I would piss up against the wall!

21k is from my 430d, I’ve lost 7.5k on that in 10 months, only done 1500 miles in it, that’s what depreciation looks like chaps

The first chip in the favorite supermarket parking lot will remind you that this is only a car.

As mentioned earlier, many cars receive touch ups at the port. It's just the reality of long haul logistics.
