They're not a requirement for the MOT currently, it's only a legal requirement for diesel vehicles fitted with a DPF. That might change, but as it stands today, you can do what you want with an OPF.

ANY CAR Fitted with them is required to keep them full stop. IF my F90 M5CP could have them deleted I would have have done it by now.

Seems like they are not a legal or legislative requirement. The requirement is to pass EURO 6, however manufacturers see fit.

I suppose you could rip it off and see if it passes

Mine will be coming off regardless

CATS and DPF’s are a requirement whether the car can pass an MOT or not. I guess the OPF will follow suit soon enough?

OPF delete or options?

Usually I'm just nosing in to see what's what But been away for a few weeks and keen to see if there's any news, updates with the exhaust options, anything in the pipeline, excuse the pun.... seen loads of promising tunes but no actual evidence. Either way loving the performance just need some growl!!

I had the PCW mod on my M3C but don't think he travels now which is a shame but still considering it

Nothing there to make me risk or void the warranty, doesn't sound any better to me watching those videos, plus in a fat SUV with acoustic glass you'll hear nothing much anyway.

I loved the sound my e92 M3 made when I had my Tubi style exhaust on it as it was mental and the Miltek was good as well, but for me with these turbo engines you're chasing a noise that just isn't going to come.

Fair enough. He does offer a few options for noise/sound, but louder will = drone. My M40i is not vastly louder but probably about 15-20% and a much deeper sound. Basically sounds how it should have. All his punters with RS's, M's, AMG's seem suitably impressed.

As far as warranty, worst case on the exhaust, but then I would probably put in a whole system anyway.

Just my opinion and is pointed to the M versions on the video not 40i, I've had loads of M cars and had loads of different exhausts on N/A and turbo versions, for me though on the turbo cars you can make them louder but it's just more noise not a lovely sound that you get.

I did say fair enough. Of course it is your opinion. It does depend what turbo cars you are talking about. 2.0 yes, sounds crap with or without exhaust changes and is then just noise, but a 3.0 straight six. RS3 sound crap? The latest OPF cars are quiet, that is why PCW and others are so busy. Anyway, ETTO as you say

My opinion is based upon my old 4.4V8 TT M5 and F80 M3 not 2.0 four pots I didn't say they sounded crap but it's not a great sound muffled by the turbos, they just can't deliver what I'd call a great sound as there is no induction noise you can make the exhaust louder (which these solutions do with additional pops and bangs but to me that isn't a great sound just embarrassing if I'm honest)

My N/A 911 and V8 M3s did benefit from exhausts but there were high revving great sounding naturally aspirated engines, a totally different thing.

My X3MC will be staying stock as for me it can't be made to sound better just louder.

Again, fair comment, you have had many more nicer cars than me, I have had too many 2.0 turbos...boring. Mine does not pop and bang and ASD is now off, but I much prefer the deeper exhaust sound (no pops and bangs).

No mate, not OPF delete, just a backbox mod, and possibly resonator delete by PCWMods. You need to contact Paul if UK based
