I love my car

Omg! I love this car. It's by far the best car I have ever owned. It looks unreal.

Had a X3 M40i try it on with me today, Jesus this thing is unreal. I love the driving position, the build quality is unreal.

The guy was following me for 7 miles on the motorway, we got to the toll gate and he gunned it. I didn't even try and he was behind me, he must have been spanking that engine.

They are unreal, I did have a few moments where I thought I would regret the move but as soon as I drove the car they went away.

As a fellow X3 owner, he should have known better. Well, he found out the hard way now. Knowing first hand what these cars can do, I would not challenge one unless armed with a serious street rod. You debadged?

To be fair he probably thought "let's see where this stacks up against the X3M". I have done the same in my old car against a couple of M cars.

It's not de-badged. I do like the stupidly long badge almost makes it look fake haha.

Yeah, I suppose that's a possible, plausible explanation. Still, I doubt he expected that much of a difference. The M40i already has a reputation as one quick SUV. I prefer the debadged look myself-especially with our particularly busy looking cluster of badges crammed in a corner. Almost looks like alphabet soup to me.

Once the cars are moving the m40i is actually considerably faster from 25-60 and from other speeds as well. Was pretty surprising .

So the m40i was 1.4 seconds quicker from 20-60 and and 2.9 seconds quicker from 25-60. That’s huge .

Call me a little skeptical, but I have a hard time believing the M40i is quicker in any metric. An M40i might be a little quicker off the line, but after that the M will eat the M40i

Unless you think it was rigged? Watch Joe Achilles video comparing the two cars . It wasn’t even close actually .

... I take JA videos with a pinch of salt.
From EVO: "the M40i accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 4.8sec."
From Autocar: "the X3M competition 4.1"

I agree it's close with the M40i weighing 85kg less than the X3M competition.

Either way I love the X3M it's a beast. Probably my last chance at owning a fully petrol M car before they go hybrid at some point.
