Drivetrain Malfunction - Turbo wastegate actuator

Over the first 2500 miles I've received intermittent "drivetrain malfunction" alarms. Never stored a hard code, went away next time the vehicle was started. I scheduled an appointment to have it checked out and after a few days of diagnosing they discovered the wastegate actuators weren't adjusted properly and they weren't sealing shut.

They attempted an adjustment and recalibration but are still having issue.

Just curious if anyone else has had this problem that can give some input.

Thanks

Yep, sounds like the exact same issue.

Is yours fixed yet? If so, what was the outcome. I'll share with my SA.

I had the same thing happen to me, but at like 30 miles, the DAY i bought it... I had to take it in and it took them 2 days to fix it. They had to go through diagnostics and testing with techs in Germany. You can see the actual text they wrote about the issue I was having in the picture I uploaded

The service guys said they just reset the code and to come back if it happens again and they will contact BMW...so they basically did nothing,

No. I’m an owner. Delivered beginning of October.
It’s a blast to drive, but this is irritating!

Yeah if I owned it I would’ve pushed the issue more if I were you... I hope there wasnt anything actually wrong with yours.

Now that I know this seems to be an issue with some motors, I think I might stop by and discuss it with them a bit more. I’ve bought enough vehicles from the dealership that I would think (key word) that they’d want me satisfied...but you never know!
