No experience with PPF so can't comment on that other than I think the satin effect on that M5 is amazing in Donington.

that satin looks epic! I would go for that if you have the funds!
is your installer confident on putting PPF over the ceramic? |

Not sure you can do PPF over ceramic, it's normally done the other way around. Something to do with the PPF adhesive from my understanding. I'd check with Xpel, 3M, and/or Suntek to be sure. Had full front PPF and then ceramic on my prior GLC43, but personally won't do ceramic again. Way overhyped for the $$$, IMO. Love PPF, however. Good luck!

the guy who fitted mine (Xpel) already has the templates. He did say there were 2 different ones with different locations of the front parking sensors - i had to give him a photo so he could match up with the right ones.

I asked what i could get for £600 and after a bit of haggling got the front of the car (including lights) upto where the wing joins and about 1/4 of the bonnet (hood). No mirrors or A Pillars. I think i have the main areas covered where most of the damage would be |

This is correct. You shouldn't put a PPF over a fresh ceramic coat. But a proper installer should strip the ceramic, which is pretty expensive and you just got it put on. You can ceramic coat PPF after.

you want to coat over the ppf.
if you do the clear ppf you should at the least do full hood full front fenders front bumper headlights mirrors a pillars leading edge roof lower doors rockers fender flares x 4 or you can install it on the full car. |

You just described exactly the coverage I got done on mine with Xpel Ultimate Plus with the addition of a piece on the bumper lip area around the hatch opening.

You need to do PPF before ceramic coating. I did both and for the ppf I did full front, door cups, front pillars, door pillars, rear trunk bumper, and behind the rear rear wheels
