Can it be customized (colors/modes/etc.)? Or can it be used for any other information display?

Thanks!!

Not really, a few little tweaks here and there but nothing that changes the colour or look in a major way.

What about the Alpina cluster via Bimmercode? That's pretty different, mind you not for me.

Isn't M is higher status than Alpina? :

No idea. Poster was simply asking for a more colorful cluster and I suggested the bimmercode Alpina cluster. He didn't ask for a higher or lower "status" cluster. Very colorful in my opinion

For an full LCD display it's pretty sparse on customizability which is a little disappointing at this price. They could have at least offered a more racy gauge setup option when using M1 or M2.

I don't think M Cluster can be coded to Alpina, because Alpina Cluster is based on non M car.

Possibly. I haven't tried it, nor will I. My bimmercode app says it's doable but no idea what the outcome would be. That's all for me.

You can't change it. The actual dash is different than non m models where you can change to alpina.

The dash in our cars is straight from the M5

This. Didn’t see it as option for gauges, only welcome animation. See it can be done on other X3 models but doesn’t appear to carry over to X3M.

Maybe that's what I saw (animation) in any event, happy with my current cluster arrangement

The dash binnacle isn't any different I have the same in my 7er, the difference is the additional options aren't available as the information displayed is different to a standard BMW, a standard BMW displays the same info as an Alpina hence the ability to code that screen colour way but actual screen is the same whether M5, X3M or standard version car. (for ID6)

Aside from colors, can it display any other information? I do notice when in the M hud mode, the XM radio, phone calls are directed to the right gauge! Can it display navigation or trip information as well?

It displays what you can see...there no hidden functions. What is it you want to see?

Why would you want Altima. ///M > Altima all day... plus you would instantly lost your M setup views as well as the Alpina doesn't come with adjustable steering suspension settings. I get why you would want to do It the colors are sick- but you would put your dash into brick loop and then would need to take it back to the dealership for a re-code. Don't do It.
