Maxton Lip Fitted
After having Maxton parts on my previous three BMW's and knowing you get a good bang for you're buck decided to go with them again for the lip spoiler.
As Teaston has said i would have preferred the one piece V2 version as on the F series but that is not available yet, if at all. Very easy 40 min fit with copious VHB tape and self tapping screws. The kit comes with a lot of various bolts/fitments in a bag but did not use any. My rational was it did not fall of any previous cars using the same method and if bolted the implications on the original bumper could be serious. Had to wait over 4 weeks for delivery, factory issues, but at £142.80 including tax/discount/delivery, so very good. And yes we do get Sun in the UK even in February, Temp are up so winters are off a couple of weeks, until we go to the Lake District in early March. But i think it really suits the Phytonic Blue with the Gloss Black bits.

That does look good with the black grilles and boomerangs, aggressive but not out of place, definitely better than the ACS splitters.
I'm almost half way through my X3's ownership now, or I would be by the time it's delivered and I get a chance to fit it, so don't think I can be bothered to fit any major mods now! |

Cheers for the positive comments, I agree it does give it a more aggressive look.
The Maxton sticker is easily removed, then a little alcohol rub to remove residue. For the UK guys, there are a few coupons/codes on line that give 10% of all the site, not sure if it would work for our US cousins. These were working a few hours ago, such as: TSRS10 on site https://dealspotr.com/promo-codes/maxtondesign.co.uk Maxton on Ebay as well, but only 1 splitter left on site, I am sure they only get them in in small numbers, I had to wait for a couple of weeks. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FRONT-SPL...4AAOSwAOBdwuof

Ordered, I have a carbon black M40i so will look very nice. Thanks for the heads up on the discount code. Could you show a pic of underneath and the screws and tape you used?

I just used VHB tape/Screws from Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Double-HitL...079138&sr=8-11 As long as the crews were pan head and approx 12-15mm long, plenty on Amazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/sourcing-ma...PFSPRF0FK&th=1 I just mounted the tape along the full length two strips, with a bit extra at either end, due to the curves. From my experience of Maxton they have all fitted perfectly first time, no filing or rubbing down (unlike a lot on Ebay) My simple one man method: They are awkward due to the length to be fitted by one, method i have used (saves getting ramps out etc) 1. Remove Maxton sticker, a bugger to get off later. 2. Place VHB tape on, leave backing on. 3. Using even, two piles of books (wood etc) a third in each side. 4. The height should be just below (-20mm) finished fitting height with the splitter on top of the books. 5. Position directly below finished position, with a pencil mark a mark on centre of bumper and splitter., makes lining up easier later. 6. Remove splitter, take tape backing tape off. 7. Reposition splitter, making note of centre, so all you need is a small 10-20mm lift to correct final position. 8. go along underneath splitter, pressing splitter to bumper. 9. Use drill for pilot holes, I used 12, holes about 25mm from back edge of splitter. Original bumper overlaps Maxton, so no issue. 10. Use self tappers. 11. Took about 45 mins all in. Obviously only to used if you have a few unused books lying around...don't use the wife's books, it gets you in trouble if she notices's

I just got quoted $385 shipped to the US. $200 of that was shipping cost. this takes away from the affordable aspect of this purchase.
