True. I want to avoid talking to the car though, when having passengers. And many other times too. But sure, the voice control works much better now than 10y ago!

Agree that voice control is much much improved even in the last 5 years, but still not as reliable as pressing a button

I also have the same sentiment that I don't always want to talk to the car, especially with passengers inside.

Never had to do the valet yet.. but I have a case for my key. It's annoying to take the key out and if I do.. there's no key chain for the valet to attach the tag to.. Sometimes they use tape which leaves a awful residue.

This reminds me to look for a false key to put in it's place.. or have one milled out to give them a loop. Funny that Toyota thought about this and has 2 loops where one is removable while BMW hasn't.

I am a brand new owner of an x3. Many questions!

How do you set all radio station presets on one preset button? This one is important to me!

Congrats, and welcome to the X3 family.

Do you mean you want to memorize your favorite stations under 'Preset' in 'Media", OR, do you mean you want to memorize one single station on one short-cut button on the dash near the AC unit? If it's the latter, after you have selected a station, press and hold onto a shortcut button you want to program and the station will be stored. I also attached a pic from my e-manual for memorizing stations in Preset.

By the way, download the Driver's Guide App on your smart phone and have the e copy of the manual handy. It will help a lot.

4. nothing
5. nothing
6. nothing
7. ambient lighting (for the kids) !

Reading some of the other choices I will be sure to use a few more up.
Like the ones that navigate straight to home or call a contact for example!

I think he's asking if one preset button will take you to a menu showing all of your presets? I too would like to do this. I can only get a single preset button to remember one individual station. I swear my Genius set it up in delivery to go to my Sirius preset list, but it deleted when I coded.

In that case, it can be done under one condition only (AFAIK) - if the last radio station being played was selected via Preset menu, then pressing the Media button, will bring you the list of all Presets.

You can easily have one button go to your presets. You just highlight the tab at the top of the media section that says “presets” then hold down the button you want to program. Done. Btw, presets can be a mix of xm, fm and am stations.

For those that are freaking out on the Go To Home, program HOME as somewhere other than Home.

Mine goes to the parking lot of the police station.

(And yes, my registration is stored under the rear deck).

Ok, just set mine up.
1 presets
2 call wife
3 BMW calendar...love this one the most. We always want to know what’s scheduled next and now I don’t have to have my wife check my phone to see. Just wish it would display the details of the day in split screen mode. As it works now it just displays the calendar and then I have to select the day for the details.
4 turn off display
5 turn off HUD
6 navigate home
7 cancel navigation

It’s under the ConnectedDrive menu as a Smartphone App. I have an iPhone so not sure if it’s phone specific. It’s not a CarPlay app, but it does have access and displays my calendar info.

How to activate rear camera, preferably in tow mode?

Anyone know how to program one of the favorite buttons to turn on the rear camera, preferably in tow mode to see the hitch? I navigated to the 'tow mode' check box but couldn't get a button to save that.

So I guess I'm asking two (tow?) things:
1. Favorite button to turn on rear camera
2. Favorite button to activate tow mode

Anyone have success with these?

THANKS!

Glad to see this tread because I still haven't programmed any shortcuts. I forgot that feature existed until I saw this thread.
