What car is that? G01? I don't think that my 2019 X3 M40i has those little yellow lights. I'll have to look tomorrow. I never noticed them. I presume that they would be illuminated when the car is still (i.e., when I am checking) as well as when the car is in motion.

I coded my door mirror to only dip 70% when reversing but it still dips 100% occasionally. When it does this, if I take it out of reverse and put it back in again, it dips to 70%!

I think I will give it a go with coding using Bimmercode...feel more comfortable doing that than pulling fuses. Thanks again much appreciated |

MPA_MSP_VIEW_ENABLE — orange MPA_MSP_VIEW_ENABLE — grau_weiss (grey) Also there is so many crazy coding in that website, ill post more stuff later. Last edited by GoodGuyAvi; 08-21-2019 at 08:26 PM.. |

What are the best coding options to stop the book/trunk opening when the key is accidentally pressed?
I have an ENET cable and ethernet to lightning adapter so I have none of the limitations that are present with the older WiFi adapters.

Depends on what circumstances is the boot opening. If by pressing the button, that could be coded. Either by dealer, if he's willing to (to code boot open only when doors are unlocked), or by adjusting the time when pushing the button on the keyfob (try to search for solution, it's here somewhere). If other reason, than you might have a faulty sensor or something else.

After watching my trunk open while sitting having dinner I went and coded some settings. Haven't had any accidental openings since so one or some of these might be enough: A) Increase the long-press delay time on the fob (from lo_cheng's post some number of pages back in this thread). Tailgate open delay using remote control: 1) Goto BDC (Body Domain Control), then go into Expert mode. 2) Goto "30D0 RemoteControlMaster" 3) Goto "RCM_Time_Delay_Bootlid" 4) Change the Wert_01 value from 05 (Default) to 20 (will be about 4 seconds) - try larger/longer values if you really want to be sure your pocket doesn't open the trunk. lo_cheng used 30 (~5s)... Tweak a few more settings in the Tailgate computer to make it easier to close an open tailgate: B) Tailgate close with press on fob - to close the tailgate from the fob if it does open accidentally. C) Tailgate close via door button without hold - accidentally opened the trunk thinking I had a window button... panicked because I apparently couldn't close it again from the door switch. D) If all that doesn't solve the issue, then the dealer can recode the Fob itself to only allow opening the boot when the doors are unlocked... It's like two-factor authentication for your trunk HTH.

An excellent car made more perfect through coding. All the little annoyances and odd defaults accounted for, thank you Bimmercode. Full round up now:
Active Sound Design off Seatbelt warning off > advanced crash BDC Driving mode default Adaptive > bdc Brake force display more sensitive/lower force (nope, was .5 already) > bdc Mirror automatic tilt now 60%, was 100% > bdc Convenient closing from fob on > bdc Window lift not interrupted > bdc Tailgate open on fob longer long press > bdc > *expert* ECU ASS last set memory > ecu HEADUNIT Display start animation (M? nah...) > headunit Volume popup off > headunit Warnings disabled > headunit ROOF Acoustic lock tone and volume low, short > roof TAILGATE Tailgate close on fob > tailgate Tailgate close door button without hold > tailgate Super curious if there's code buried somewhere that defines the ranges of damping the Adaptive Suspension uses for each Drive mode...

How did you get that screen "Show Drivers Profiles at Start-up"? Did you recode something? Thanks.

I have been reading the tips in this thread. It was recommended to export the driver profiles before coding because they are sometimes erased after coding.
I saw someone say that they export "online" rather than USB. I only have USB as an option is this something I can do via the app or is it not available on USA models? Thanks for any tips... Last edited by Jets; 08-22-2019 at 07:59 PM.. |
