If 56 is the median age, the split should be equal above/below. But, the age on the forum probably skews younger, but not as much as some might think. Us aging baby boomers were the ones building computers in the garage after all.

I can't vote, as I'm right on the median. Upgraded from my aging 'Yoda to a '19 X3 M40i in January at the ripe (but not old) age of 56. What a difference 19 years of technological advancements makes.

I picked up my 2019 BMW X3 M40i the day before my 79th birthday in April 2019.

My first sports car was a 1968 Jaguar XKE 2+2 in 1970. It was 18 months old when I bought from a local Jaguar dealer and it had 18,000 miles on it. I paid $3,400! Had it for about 3 years, when I finally blew the clutch. I didn't have the cash for the repairs, which were considerable, so foolishly traded it on a brand new 1973 MGB roadster - one of the worst cars I ever owned.

All vehicles that I have owned/leased include the following:
1946 Oldsmobile 2 Door Sedan Black
1940 Ford 2 Door Sedan Blue
1957 Mercury 2 Door Sedan Maroon
1953 Ford Sedan Blue
1929 Ford Model A Pick-Up Black

What a history! Your perspective driving the M40i must be quite unique.

First bmw (2019 X3 m40i) at 39. Lots of cheaper cars before this one! I'm a month into the m40i and I think it's a lot less fun to drive than my Subaru WRX but definitely way more refined. I miss the manual transmission more than I thought I would.

Younger. 46. With the M40i, I think I am hooked. I love the car. Perfect blend of fun driving and family utility for me. It will be very difficult for me to get anything else but similar M-based X3s down the road, unless BMW discontinues that model or royally messes it up.

Wow the median age is a little higher than I expected. I wonder what's the median age for Benz.
I got my first bmw at 25 I think. I got the X3m40i for my 28th birthday, a gift from me to me haha 😂should've gotten a revenue/rental property tho. All my friends call me Papa Manu because I always had sportier cars and now I got a family SAV. Now the teachers don't look at me weird when I go pick up on rare occasions the kids of my best friend. Sometimes a few mothers will give me the weird look because the cold start makes a lot of noise with the DP.

Younger barely! I ordered my X3M40I at 55 years old and it came in a couple weeks before turning 56. Interesting thread. This is my first BMW.
