When a post mentioning electric vehicles appears on bimmerpost a song plays in my mind:
Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?....... #moreG87lessEV |

About a year ago I remember reading on Bimmerpost news an interview article that BMW executive management was still fully committed to designing small ICE that get high mpg and put out strong HP likely to be integrated into hybrid systems. Seems like a logical step to me. At least until we have a power and charging grid that can support the greenies dreams of world wide EV utopia. I won't even get into the amount of mining chemical production needed and disposal of Lord knows how many used up batteries.
I find it interesting how the public in general is so willing to bend over on EV government mandates. As if "we the people"without question have to drive what they THINK is going to save the planet. (Providing our genius politicians don't get us nuked us into oblivion first). 95% of drivers just want to get from point A to B reliably. They will happily and without resistance drive an EV. The so called "enthusiasts" (us) savor our ICE and will likely tolerate a hybrid system of some sort. I don't see us all forced into full EV's anytime soon so keep the faith and don't give up so easily. |

I think after this initial WOW factor you'll see more and more people feel the same way. I believe synthetic fuels are the way to go. It needs scalability, but it will work in all ICE vehicles, is carbon neural provided the fuel is produced from clean energy unlike EV power, and will allow long term sustainability. Sound IS important to many people. Sadly not everyone especially those in government.

On I15 and I80 there are more 350kw stops than Tesla has supercharger locations, every 75 miles or so. You barely even have to plan anymore. |

I hear this all the time and I understand that we will all eventually be forced into this but until that happens, I have no interest in planning a trip around waiting for charge stations to open and having to sit and wait a second longer than it takes for me to put gas in my car.
