I get you plug it in on the side of the dash and go up the pillar and then what? Lol.
Thanks
You connect the wire to the light from the footwell light underneath your dash for each side. So each led strip has its on power source. driver side footwell and passenger side. each cover for the '22 at least has 2 turn tabs on each cover.

Hope this makes sense.

Then run the wire up through the dash,( remove side panel on dash to give you more access) up behind A pillar cover and connect to each strip. Remove the rubber weather stripping from the top area of the door, take off sunshade and oh shit handle as not to create a crease in the headliner when you pull it down a bit to fish the wire towards the sunroof to connect each clip. No need to pull down the entire headliner.

Use a pry tool on the corner edge of the sunroof side headliner and a finger through a hole from the handle access hole, pull down till you feel 1 pop of a clip come undone and this will give you enough room from sunroof side to door side of the headliner to fish each connector through together. ( I used a hook pick and pulled both connectors through the handle cutout in the headliner pictured and connected it and tucked it back in. There are no wires showing anywhere.

Sorry I didn't take alot of pics towards the end of the install, I was getting excited to see the finish product.

What about the curtain airbag? I hope you managed to go behind that, for your own sake.

The placement of the wire is not near the side curtain airbags. Nor will it interfere if the side airbags get deployed,. If this wire is in the way of the airbag, i know it won't have the strength to stop it from deploying..The BMW spring clips and panels have more ridgity than the thin strand copper wire and plastic connectors.

Group install would be cool if I wasn't in Texas… maybe I can participate remotely via Zoom or something lol

In all seriousness, if anybody does get the chance to document further (video/photos) on the install, please share!

If I had known this would be important to you guys, I would have documented it better.

From that Alibaba place?

How about a remote install jam, eg. over a zoom?

Congrats....it now looks like the inside of one of those Las Vegas stretch limos. Next, you'll need to apply a mirrored film to the inside of the roof glass to complete the "party limo" look! .........LOL

Looks pretty neat. If this was an official BMW part I would probably buy it.

I'm still waiting for delivery looks like it got caught up in customs. I would be surprised if I get it. After 35 days I can open a dispute for $ back on aliexpress.

Is the footwell light always on with the ambient lighting? I don't think so. There has to be a better power source...

Yes its is on all the time, same as on your doors and dash. Prob don't notice it on during the day.
