IIRC, its the trailer coupling preparation (option 8SL) that’s standard, so that it can wire the OEM trailer hitch with the connector to control brake and signal lights on it.

-harness retrofit kit: 71-60-2-458-028

-trailer module: 63-11-6-894-066

Then it need to be programed either by dealer or 3rd party. Not Bimmer code.

I think you can code this with eSYS. My buddy is doing it on his F15.
