But you have to think the 7 and 5 Series full remodels are 1-2 years ahead of a X3 redesign and they were 1-2 years ahead of the LCI too, so they had some more legs on their current interior designs. They will likely be all new 2023 7 Series and a 2024 5 Series. X3 won't be all new until 2025 by which the interior would have been 8-9 years old.

BMW also has much more pressure to be up to date on the X3 than anything else in their lineup, so they'll invest heavy to get it up to date.

Yes. X3 and X4 will be updated together for the LCI.

What is the button just below the Eco Pro?
I don't even see a button space for the optional Adaptive Suspension. Could they be taking that away?

That screen looks like 12.3 to me.

My CA told me he would have options list and order info by July and delivery would be Sept.

That stitching on the steering wheel? I thought those colors were exclusive to a XM not the M40i.

I like the start button near the gear selector on the console and the overall button layout in that area.

These pics seals it for me, not gonna order a '21 M40i, going to wait for the LCI. Liking that new gray color as well, reminds me of Audi's Quantum gray.

Why don't they do simple updates like making the standard wheels (esp on sport models like the M40) 'stick out' more to make the car look more modern and sporty?

Not like a skinny and long old man, which is how someone described the M40 (with 21 inch wheels!)

The X5 has much better 'stance'...even the non-sporty models.

Ja, for the Assisted Driving Modes and also ETJA (extended traffic jam assistant) when activated.

With ETJA active, the indicators stay lit green (photo of my G05 with ETJA active)

Makes sense. With the current update cycle and pattern, the x3/x4 will ALWAYS have the most outdated interior. It is really getting very old. Good to hear that they are being more flexible with the updates (but I'm sure some who JUST missed the update will get pissed).

I'm on the brink of missing the update lol. Currently have an order in and pickup would be schedule for late March/early April. I knew going in to my purchase that the LCI was coming but what I didn't expect was an interior refresh.

Thinking of picking up an M340i for six months or so and then re-evaluating getting the M40i with the updated interior.

I agree with this. I've been a BMW driver for 35 years and have never seen an LCI update with changes this extensive. My first thought was that the interior and exterior pics were from different cars. This level of change would be extraordinary and unprecedented afaik. With that said, this post is of a purported X6 LCI with an i4 interior. So who knows, this may be something new for BMW?

Yeah I had a feeling late last year when I saw how much better the LCI update made the 5 Series look but was still going for a 2021 M40i until I got a deal on a 2020 Porsche Macan. With the Macan's resale value I figured I'd get a year or two out of it and be in a good spot for the X3 M40i post LCI.

Performance I doubt will change but for people who want better tech like remote start, drive recorder and upgraded Adaptive Cruise, which I did, it's worth the wait. Looks will be subjective.

I'm waiting for a x30e at the moment. Just have to bite the sour apple (a danish saying) and enjoy the "old" car. Hopefully it's still fantastic 😅

It's a lovely car in its current state -- I'm sure you will love it. I picked up a 21 x30e last September and -- other than the frustrating recall -- its been fantastic.

OK, just watch the show: 3 things stand out.

- Alpina V8;

- The 2022 X3 M40i will be feature in the Black Widow movie that will be release in the spring; and

- The M3 and M4 are let say... Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
