I am a big wheel guy for aesthetics obviously and I don't think the 21s are the right choice for this car...

They are the heaviest, least comfortable and hardest to find tires for. They also don't handle any better than the lighter 20s... they may look a tiny bit better but the 20s look great as well.

FWIW, i've never seen someone sell 20s for 21s... I've seen the reverse here quite a few times.

Great choice. One thing about the black 699 wheel is that they clean-up easily and take ceramic coatings without much effort. The paint on the 699 wheel is very thick and generously applied and will last forever. This has to be some kind of special wheel paint BMW uses, it looks great. The wheels look wet when they are clean and glimmer in any light.

Gotta run, I need to go put the brake dust back on the wheels via a quick rip on the backroads.

I have 21s on mine and love them. The dealer had another very similar X4 arrive before mine but had the smaller tires and they asked me if I wanted to take it instead of waiting for mine. I did the obvious choice.

these are all very good points and ultimately why I decided to stay with the way I ordered it.

funny I do notice the same thing... at least for the 5 minutes after a wash until drive 1 when the brake dust destroys them lol... it's really unbearable and I'm installing powerstops the day the m40 arrives, there is no way I can continue to deal with this dust. I'm out there washing the wheels almost daily.

I can't argue with the beauty of these wheels. I really do love them and you cannot go wrong. I made my decision based on the items mentioned above and i guess that's that. it was a very hard decision as I love the look of these, and the larger wheels always seem to make the entire car look better... this is what got me started, we got my wife's XC60 last week and found one with the new 22" wheels.. her last one was the most boring soccer mom white volvo vehicle ever made, but this one is a different story and it's mostly because of the insane wheels they put on it... then I'm like, how can my wife have a better looking vehicle than me LOL
