I’m about to put my order in for a new lci x3m comp. After owning a donington grey with ivory white when they first came out I would love ivory again as it makes the interior so light and a nice place to be. Unfortunately ivory isn’t available in the uk anymore so choices are as follows -

Marina bay blue with black interior
Black sapphire with sakhir interior
Marina bay blue with sakhir

I was leaning more towards the first option but I would prefer not to have black inside. I love San Marino blue so marina bay blue is pretty similar and a good option. Would the sakhir interior clash or would it go pretty well?

I have seen some blue/red combos online, mainly Estorial blue and red and think it does look pretty good.

First world problems really, just looking for opinions really

I went with Marina Bay and Sakhir. I think it looks good but my wife isn't so sure!

That looks lovely. It goes better than I expected. My wife isn’t sure just like yours

It would be the same as that but with the other wheel option. Shame we can’t have the rear sunblinds in the uk either

Haha maybe the ladies don't like bright interiors.

I went with the other wheels too.. Looks much better in my opinion!
The rear sunblinds are part of a $2000 package here in Australia so I decided to leave it out.

Good luck with the colors and let us know what you decide on.

Go with MBB and Sahkir. You won't regret! I love that combo.

I would have gone red calipers too, but weren't available when I ordered (the very first batch of cars did not have the option).

I've looked into it and the cost to paint them is 300-400. Might do that later. I do think it looks great against the blue of the car.

Now Tricky .. I too faced a similar dilemma with the interior colour choice.

One thing to note first off; colours presented in both videos and photos do not necessarily provide a true representation of seeing them in the flesh.

When I bought my 440i back in Jan 2019 I had a choice of two , Alpine White / Black Leather / 8SP Auto or Mineral Grey / Sakhir Orange interior / 6MT. I spent a whole day test driving and spending time in each car.

Whilst the Alpine White / Black interior was the "safe" option of the two , the SO interior of the MG was indeed a big wow factor .. 8SP vs 6MT I was on the fence.


Having spent the day deliberating .. I had to be honest with myself .. "could I live with the SO interior day in day out for a few years" would I miss the opportunity of the 8SP Auto over the 6MT .. It had to be said the MG / SO suited each other very well. But at the end of the day my answer was "no" .. again very subjective is car colour and interior colour , and with only photographs and vids to go off, I again went the "safe" route with MBB and Black Merino. I have recently been able to change my wheels though to the 892 M lights after initially going for the 765M's .. I thank Max Well for this, based on the photos shared of the new member to his family ..another beauty!

I personally do not like the MBB and SO combo, for me it clashes , especially when the MBB pops in sunlight , in addition with Pano open the SO pops also , this may be to the liking of some, as per the above comments, but for me MBB popping and keeping the interior less "in your face" works.

Additionally the natural successor to my 440i was going to be an F82 M4C in SMB with Black Merino / Carbon interior , but when the X3MC appeared on my radar, ticking all the right boxes, the choice was made for me

So .. I would go with your first option , however BSM / SO would work really well, but my time with Black Cars came to end when my Pure Grey VW T6.1 arrived last December, replacing my Deep Black Pearl VW T6, I swear I would never get a black car again , having spent many years detailing them and keeping them looking mint , but I have until recently given in and gone back to black .. not this time

This is the same thing my wife said! She keeps making me second guess my decision to go with MBB and SO. Like you said its really hard to tell from pictures and videos. Hopefully the risk pays off and I love it in person.

Fair enough..maybe there was an initial shortage of red caliper paint...lol!
Yeah its something you can always do down the track but since it was an option here in Australia I decided to go with it.

Lol. It was just a shitshow by BMW. Still unsure as of why that feature in particular wasn't enabled when they were producing m40s with red calipers for all of 21 and 22 🤷*♂️

In any case. It's done! I'll probably add the red when I run out of easy mods to do hehe

It would be my choice, given that ivory doesn't appear to be an option in the UK. I'd really like the full pallette of individual colours to choose from too, but again no.

Resale isn’t a concern for me really. There’s plenty of buyers in the uk that want something a little different hence why individual has taken off so much in the last few years

Blinds? This was one of the options missing on my old x3m as looks like it’s not available at all anymore
