Don't call it a software update, it is an istep update. My dealership also called it a camera update.

Both of those things are the same thing…. A software update updates the I level of the vehicle.

I am aware it's a software update, but you need to be specific with them. They probably just thought I drive update. That's my point.

If you want to be specific then call it an Integration Level. And look at the key read when you're at the dealer which will show your current Integration Level and if there is an update available.

Just because there is an update available does not mean the dealer has any obligation updating it for you just because you asked. If they want to be courteous and offer that to you, I would expect it a one time case-by-case thing. You're not going to get a free update every time you need service.

Mine does too. When I go to the Imprint screen it shows my software as 11/19 and ends with "G01 ID5"
